We made it back about 7:00 tonight, without incident as well, just in time for thunder storms later this evening. This was our 2nd Can Opener. Met more great people and had a wonderful time (and I thought last year was really great). Just as we did last year, we will book our site in February or March for Can Opener 2009.
Steve, thanks for all of your hard work making this happen. I'm sure getting volunteers to help next year will be easy. You can certainly count on us.
Well I am not home ok where ever I stop is home. I am currently in Mississippi. I am headed for Louisiana tomorrow. I now expect to hit Dallas early next week.

We arrived home at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Like Clancy Boy said, the extra day at Topsail was good to have to wind down from the great events on Saturday. We left at around noon on Monday and and took the no Interstate option on the GPS to get home. We overnighted at Manatee Springs SP in Chiefland, FL. Pretty good value, 30 amp and water for $16.00.
I can only echo what everyone else has already said about how great this rally is. We'll be beck next year.
You know the rally is over when the organizer goes home. This picture is Devoman making his way home. Thanks Steve for everything.

altho... if any of you are traveling thru or near Montgomery, AL... consider stopping in The Woods RV park! thats where we're at right now.. we'd appreciate the company... we're the only AS there right now. the prices are good ($26 a night. less if you have Good Sam or Passport America.. slightly more if you want 50amp) for full hookups, close to 80 cable channels, and free WiFi... plus, you get to come check out our renovations!
hehehe
anyway... be safe everyone, and i DO hope to see you all next year
Passed through Montgomery on the way home from the Can Opener Rally. If I had known earlier where you were I would have stopped by. I ended up spending 2 nights at a Corps of Engineers Camp in GA.

We've stayed at The Woods RV Park several several times. It's sometimes right on our route to and from home. We met katzklaw on our last visit there a couple of months ago and got a tour of their vintage Airstream.
It's a very nice stopover CG. It is super convenient to the Interstate, has 5 point hookups, nice bathhouse, and there are several restaurants within an easy walk, including a Popeye's (my personal favorite). The price is right, and it is owned and operated by a very nice family that lives on the premisies.

My wife and I had a really good time going around and meeting several of y'all and checking out the various units Saturday PM. We wished we could have stayed for the entire rally and thank every one for the invitations to the potluck. I'm working on the camper getting it at where it won't leak anymore. Even though we live in the area, that was our first time at the park and it exceeded our expectations! We're planning on being there next year.
There's a pig roast rally at Mystic Springs park starting on Jan 17th, we'll be there until the 21st since schools out that Friday and Monday. If any of you want to come out it's just $9 a night for 3 point hook up and the meal costs are $10/person for the weekend, an unbeatable deal! Just call the camp and reserve by Tues. the 16th, the # is 850 256 3280. You don't have to be a WBCCI member to attend, just show up with an Airstream.
Moosetags, I saw where you parked at the Can Opener but you weren't around as we came by, sorry we missed you, hoping to meet you. Devoman, I appreciate the hospitality you shown towards us as well as all the others we met.
Glad you were there for the afternoon 68. We attended two or three North Georgia rallies before we even bought our Airstream and met some really nice folks. They continue to be our friends to this day. I am convinced that the camaraderie of camping builds bonds like no other past time.
Looking forward to seeing all the new friends we met at this rally, as well as the friends we made at past rallies, at future rallies. Looks like we will miss the Springstream rally this year, but hoping to make the '08 Falluminum. But, we will definitely see you all at the '09 Can Opener!
