Carol found her cat. He is safe and sound in her trailer as of yesterday morning.

Too Much Fun

We'll, let see. Started with too much cold, then too many cool people, then way too much to look at in cool AS's, then way, way too much good food at the pot luck, then too much desert and a little music at the clubhouse (isn't gluteny suppose to be a sin?) The only disapointment was it was the time was TOO short. Thanks to all for working so hard to make this a great rally.

MPC, sorry we missed you Sunday AM. PM me and we'll trade picks of our '73's. jt & theresa

Ok, now I'm really sorry I had to miss this one! Sounds like everyone had a wonderful time...great food to share with new and old friends.....good music....the sound of the waves in the background. It makes one want to cry because they couldn't be there.

Hopefully we'll be able to be there for 2009! See you on the road!

Sorry I couldn't make it . Lack of extra cash, and my parents came to visit from Florida this last week w/their 23' Safari. I was waiting to the last minute, hoping to find a way to sneak in . Maybe next time! P.S. Is the object in the photo a Shetland cow ,or a small (sort of) dog?

Home around 11 PM on Sunday night. It was a great rally (my first Can Opener Rally). Thanks Steve (Devoman) for a great rally. I really enjoyed the nice park, great people, the trailer open house, the happy hour, the "out of this world" buffet potluck, and the desserts and music.
Other than a transmission problem with the truck, I am home safe and sound.

We left the campground at around 1:00 PM local time and went over to the outlet mall and ate lunch at "Cheeseburger in Paradise" and would you believe there is a Disney outlet there! Heaven!!! That little stop only cost us $217.

We left around 3:00 local time and got home around 10:15 PM Eastern last night. Uneventful trip home...just a long drive. I actually took the scenic route through Panama City...ooops. I missed a turn-off I meant to take to get to Hwy. 81 and went out of the way a little. Oh well, the boys got to see Panama City Beach.

We had such a great time. I truly believe this was the best rally we have been to so far. The weather warmed up just enough I could wear shorts all day Saturday and just needed long pants and a sweatshirt Saturday night. And I could have been alright with shirt sleeves. I got to see my first Argosy in person. You know, when I was growing up I saw them on the road and thought they were fiberglass Airstreams. I also got to tour my first Avion, too. There were some great vintage units to see and I missed Wheelinterested's "husband's" new Airstream. I need details on that one. Did he go vintage for a restoration project?

Anyway, we had planned this little cocktail party for just before the potluck Saturday and didn't know how many people would show up. We had hoped, maybe, 20 or so would come. As it turned out, it blossomed into the raffle/cocktail party and everyone came...we needed a bigger site! We've already scoped out which site to get next year to have extra room. Anyway, I really want to thank every one that brought something to the cocktail party...Michelle brought extra ice and chips and guacamole and I lost count of what else she brought. There were others who just kept bringing ad hoc dips and snacks 'till I lost track of who brought what. But there turned out to be some really great appetizers and it really helped get everyone in the mood for the potluck. Becki and I really appreciated the help.

Thanks for all the hard work you did Steve and like Becki and I said, we'll be glad to help with next year's rally.

P.S. Sorry about all the smoke at the cocktail party. I thought my fire wood had had time to dry out from the rains we'd had the previous weekend. Next year I'll bring some of that smokeless wood like Mike brought!

We're home - the extra day really helps you come down from a fun packed weekend rally. We will be back for sure no matter what weekend you pick next year - actually my plans are to book both weekends and cancel the one that is not the rally weekend.

The "after rally pot luck left over potluck" was great - thanks for all the left overs, it was my kind of dinner.

Those of you that were not there, we miss all of you. Hope you will be there or at another rally we are at in the future. Everyone who was there, and especially Devoman (Steve), you did it bigger this year, we are in to help you in any way next year. The Red Bar on Friday was the best time

Greg and family (gparker), you were great to have as neighbors, hope to do it again.

Un-packing now, tomarrow I have to wash both the truck and trailer, then winterize for the possible next two months of cold. BUMMER.

See ya'll real soon.

Mike and Tina

Anne (aturner4u) and I arrived home about 6pm with all the animals. We had a very leisurely drive back (until we hit Atlanta rush hour), but poor Buddy got sick along the way. Performed an I-85 roadside interior cleaning job just north of Montgomery.

We both enjoyed our first rally. Couldn't ask for a friendlier crowd. And that park is simply amazing. We are attending at the Springstream (if I don't tinker with the truck again ) and are planning to attend next year's Can Opener as well.

Smile Back Home

We took 2 days @300mi to return to, FTL. Stayed last night at Grand Lake Rv Resort near Ocala. Enjoyed our first rally and the warmth that was brought by all the participants. Putting faces to the digital.

We made it back about 7:00 tonight, without incident as well, just in time for thunder storms later this evening. This was our 2nd Can Opener. Met more great people and had a wonderful time (and I thought last year was really great). Just as we did last year, we will book our site in February or March for Can Opener 2009.

Steve, thanks for all of your hard work making this happen. I'm sure getting volunteers to help next year will be easy. You can certainly count on us.

Enjoyed meeting you all.

I made it home today about 3pm. Stayed overnight in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Columbus GA.

Great time at the rally: seeing people, many trailers, lots of walks on the beach, some music, wonderful food. Glad it warmed up Friday!

SilverCabin is Home

We arrived home at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. Like Clancy Boy said, the extra day at Topsail was good to have to wind down from the great events on Saturday. We left at around noon on Monday and and took the no Interstate option on the GPS to get home. We overnighted at Manatee Springs SP in Chiefland, FL. Pretty good value, 30 amp and water for $16.00.

I can only echo what everyone else has already said about how great this rally is. We'll be beck next year.

You know the rally is over when the organizer goes home. This picture is Devoman making his way home. Thanks Steve for everything.
