Whine - wine - etc

Regional wines hold really good surprises - Up state New York might produce some of the best whites in the world but they sell out prior to production. I don't think there is one state that doesn't produce a good wine. This is better than Victoria's secrets. I hope, we hope you can share some of the best from your region.

Steve will you be doing maps and printouts this year? I found that and the names very helpful. I wondered if you could make it a .pdf and we could print them ourselves to have on hand at arrival. A schedule might be nice too. Arriving at different times we all might not have the official "packet" until we meet and great our way over to find you or visa versa. I know for positive I could not make it from point A to point B more times than not I only got three "visits" far. However will we meet everyone and see all the Airstreams this year? Let's all stay a month, lol.

As an update to the map, site #114 will be occupied by (Mr.) Wheel Interested and the Baron. Yes we must encourage him to take a rightful forum name. I believe he is considering the name Mr. Grinch.

Thanks to the wonderful folks at Comcast, I have been without internet access for a week. I see a lot has happened.

1. I would like to see something here about times as well (eating, viewing, etc)

2. I like the idea of wine tasting but think I'll stick to some fine Tennessee sippin whiskey if you don't mind

3. Great art on the Tee. Would you mind if I printed it to a poster to hang on the AS while at Topsail? Might even personalize with our names, etc

Lots of folks arriving at different times. I know several are planning on eating at the Red Bar Friday night (us included) but is anyone interested in a happy hour Friday evening around 5 or 6? If more than 2 say yes, its on and we will supply something to snack on. We are in 155.

Hey, I've been reading about the Can Opener Rally in Destin and I'm interested but have some questions because the only rallies we've attended have been the local montly rallies at Mystic Springs park. Other than the park camping fees, what are the additional cost and what is every one dooing about meals? Is is all potluck, bring your own. I just wanted to know about the logistics of this rally. I live about 40 miles away in Crestview and can attend no problem, we'll just have to leave Sunday morning so we can be back for our church services.

Hi there 68 Tradewind...

This is my first time attending a Rally such as the Can Opener, and what I found to be extremely helpful was I went back to post #1 and then spent the next 3 1/2 hrs reading thru all 900 + posts. Took a while, but it answered about 90 percent or more of what I was unsure of. Plus there was the added benefit of that I feel like I already know about 1/2 the people I have never met...

I still wonder about how a couple things will work (like the raffle deal), but I figure that will all take care of itself once it gets going.

regards, Dave

Tradewind, David, it's just the park fee, bring something to the potluck if you can, but not required, if fact with that list probably not needed

Just come!

raffle

The way the raffle works is that I would put the forum names into a hat or small box and pic the names out.I would call out the forum names and the prizes will go out to the family in that Airstream since these items are mostly family based items.
Those who are donating prizes can bring them with you when you get your name badgess..It would help me out a lot easier to keep track of things.I will need to write your name down so when someone wins this gift they will know who donated it.Thanks everyone.
I am thinking since we will be setting up around 4:00 P.M. before it gets dark we could pass the prizes out before we start eating. How does everyone feel about that.Any ideas or suggestions?
