Can anyone start a Rally?

I would like to have one in the Pigeon Forge/Gatlingburg area if possible in the spring or early summer.

Got my interest

Sounds like you just did. Need a campground location and dates - we're in if it matches up with my travel schedule. More details please......

If you build it, they will come.

I kicked the idea around the forums about a rally this winter in AZ. I got a few replies, but did not feel that we would get a good turn out. Someone sent me a reply and said to pick a date and a location and see what happens. We currently have 30 folks signed up for next month's 4CU rally.

I have helped arrange about 8 of these Rallies . We have had small attendance of 8-10 Airstreams, and also larger attendance of up to 35. The main thing, is we have always had fun! No matter how many were there, we shared food, music, airstreaming stories and info, and friendship.
You can get as simple or as elaborate as you are comfortable with, but most want a minimal amaount of pomp and circumstance...and little pre- arranged agenda...just keep it simple and light and everyone will enjoy themselves.
Your area is accessible to us as well, and we are having a Spring Rally in N Georgia-- at Lake Chatuge,, April 20- weekend. See the info later this week. Come on down and check one out for yourselves!

We May Be Interested

Danielle and I are planning our vacation dates for the next few months - we may be able to attend depending on the dates. That area can be very crowded depending on time of year. I'm in favor of an "off-season" period if that helps narrow the possible dates. Just my .02 (from a guy who may or may not attend)

I think there is a rally in Hiawassee, GA planned for April (see above post) although it has not been put on the rally calendar yet. Keep that in mind too.

I could very well be interested , Gotta love the Smokies !!!! If you get a local map and use the back roads to avoid the heavy tourist traffic it not too bad .

Rally 101

Pick a date.
Pick a place. Try for a place where everyone pays for themselves.
Bingo! you got a Rally.

Great Idea !!

John and Tammy, I Love this area
I am not trying to "hijack" your idea, but just to give you some info.
I hosted a campout at Smoky Mountain Campground in Kodak, TN a few years back. It is located right off I-81, exit 407, highway 66. This was very convenient to the interstate. Trips to Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg were less hectic without the trailer in tow, and we did some carpooling as well.

TN Rally

Click on the link and go to campgrounds so we can pick one. I reccommend Creekside. We have driven through it an it is nice and close to everything.

Are you thinking of a WBCCI Rally or just a fun get-together Rally?

I would love to rally in the Pigeon Forge area. Spring would be a great time!

Please pick a date other than April 20-22 (North Georgia Rally), May 3-7 (Bluegrass Festival in Chatt Town) and May 19-20 (graduation and I'm in charge).

Try to find a place that doesn't require upfront money for reservation of sites, this is getting more and more difficult to do. Many make you confirm reservations 30 days in advance. Its fun to see each other at these rallys. Looking forward to seeing folks at the rally in Perry, Georgia on the 15th of January.

I was thinking a fun get together rally. im not a member of the WBCCI, yet anyways. I was looking at the rally calendar and the only dates in may are the 10th - 13th or the end of the month, or we can try for june. soon as we pick a time, i will call the campgrounds and see what i can do. maybe if we get enough, they will give us a discount???? won't hurt to try!

I have heard that there is also a nice one right off the parkway. Riverbend maybe? Not sure though. I will do some checking as well as I am located half an hour from there.....Sounds like a great idea for Spring...

Many campgrounds will give between a 10% to 25% discount depending on how much you are willing to help them. The one we use in Virginia Beach gives us a 25% but then we do all the work. Best of luck

Hey Guys,
I posted the other day and asked for help ID'ing a campground outside of Cherokee. From the number or responses I got many people go to the area or have been there. We are going probably the first week in July or the last week in June of this coming summer and staying 6 nights. I don't have the park picked yet, but I was wondering if there would be any interest in more folks attending even if just for a few nights. It would be great to see more silver in the park than just me!! It'll be the maiden cruise for my Sovereign 31' after it's restoration so it's special to me. Post and let me know and let's see what we can do... What would you call it? The Great Smoky Mountain Rally?
