Thanks Kimmy! That would be great if you have room to bring tables.
We'll need several of the parks picnic tables for the Pot Luck Saturday night, but it would be very helpful to have tables to set the food on.

It does look like it'll be a good size group
We have 24 Airstreams, 1 fabulous Avion, and 4 other brand trailers that have RSVP'd.

There wasn't a big turn out for the Fall Whiskey Flat Festival last year. The original Whiskey Flat Days is in February every year, and it's huge. But never crowded in the campground
The fun thing is they stock extra fish in the river for the event!

Grilled Pork tenderloin from site 53 (Ed and Eileen), assuming there are no restrictions on charcoal grills. Maybe a grilled apple pie, too (Ed has figured out how to cook an apple pie on a Weber grill). This pumpkin thing is stumping us a bit. Not good at carving, trying to think of a novel pumpkin dish to eat...

For Friday's meet and greet I'm going to recycle our appetizer dish for last weekends rally up in Jackson... Blue cheese / cranberry stuffed endives. They sold out very fast so I assume people really liked them.

Not sure about our main dish for Saturday, still Googling pumpkin related entrees. We do not usually cook with pumpkins so this is proving to be interesting! I've got a good recipe for baked butternut squash, isn't that a member of the pumpkin family??

Chris (Crabbey1) Of course there is going to be a pumpkin contest! I've been working on my margarita ball recepie all year. We'll be judging Saturday night at the potluck. Remember it's all things pumpkins. It can be carving, cooking, brewing, etc. Use your imaginations. Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with

Looks like we are going to have quite the group this year!

We are in site 420 and trying to come in on Thursday.
I plan on baking a pumkin cake and bringing something to grill.

Hi Everyone. We are in Kernville and all is well. Seems to be an issue arriving before 2:00 pm. Depends who is on duty. Everyone was gone for lunch when we arrived at noon so sneaked in to our site. Others we spoke with have not been so lucky. Checking out the fishing today but water situation looks scary!!! River down about 30 to 40% and the lake is very low. Weather great. Deer still here.

See you all soon. Be safe in the canyon

Good reminder. Just spent a bit of time looking at ideas. Not sure if there is anything convenient for a large group. Most either are an hour drive away (fire lookout towers, Trail of 100 Giants, and more), or are shorter but off of some dirt roads west of Kernville. I can bring my guidebook and some options and we can decide the morning of based upon how many people are interested.

I'm leaning toward shorter stuff nearby, as I've been doing a large amount of hiking recently. Based upon the geodes experience, it doesn't seem like people are afraid of taking their tow vehicles on dirt roads anyway. I would just be forced to drive them a bit slower.

Oh and Marie said she wants to make her Butternut Squash soup for the potluck.

Hey Guys wish we were already there too!

The lake is drained so that a crack in the dam can be repaired. Given that we live in the flood zone if the dam breaks, we can appreciate that

Not surprised if the river is low given the extreme drought around here this year.

Ryan and I will be bringing a green salad with chicken and feta for the potluck - and pumpkin truffles compliments of Pinterest. Looking forward to seeing everyone without a million airstream-newbie issues pinging around my brain... though I'm guessing it'll be a few years before that really ends!

Man, i am pumped. W are bringing Haley's mom who is visiting from Ohio. It will be her first Airstream event! I am absolutely down for a hike this time around. I went in my first official backpacking trip for 5 days off trail near the Palisades. It was very fun!

This is Cris and Kimmy. Kimmy still hasn't figured out what we're bringing to the potluck on Saturday. Maybe some sort of veggie dish and/or a salad with lots of veggies and stuff in it.
Are we still supposed to bring some sort of pumpkin type of dessert also? If yes, she's passing on that so that Kenny wins this year!

And she wants to know - are we supposed to bring appetizers and drinks to the Friday night meet and greet shindig? Or just come meet everyone and bring your own drink?

Schedule of events:
Thursday Night dinner at the Pizza Barn for all that want to attend ~ 6:30pm
Friday Night Meet and Greet, bring whatever you want to drink and appetizers to share ~ 5:00pm
Saturday Night Potluck & Pumpkin Contest ~ 5:00pm
(Pumpkins can be anything, decorations, carved, food, or drink, and Kenny can't win if he doesn't participate )
Campfire Saturday night after potluck at site #431

I've added extra prizes for the pumpkin contest this year due to our expanding group. Maybe as outgoing Champion Kimmy can help me judge.
