Note to the Cans,

Our hiking leader was fantastic. A tireless guide through the San Gabriel canyons for much of three days. Yes Gabe was one heck of guide. Thanks Gabe.

tried a new campground near Kingsburg

Beautiful setting on the Kings river, family run, large lots. We had a lagoon view with water and electric, bathrooms were old, clean but the women's shower had a 4 foot shower head -- so you had to bend down to get your hair wet. They had a weird pricing system that cost us $75 a night!! $35 for on the lagoon, $15 per person, $5 per dog with NOTHING special for the dogs--not even poop bags. We would go back if it was $50 a night but NOT what we paid. It is called Lindy's landing. It was great for water skiing and jet skiis.

Sometimes it's best to just enjoy the moment. If you had a nice time, it's priceless anyways.

Of course Gabe thought the mountains were named after him...

Next time, we'll need a larger watermelon!

Hi, Thanks Ron; My camera failed, so I had to take all of my pictures with my cell phone. Did you get the Lincoln fixed?

Kitty Kat, you sure have one little guy convinced. You're the coooolest kat of them all!!!

I was wowwed by the pics of the AirStream Clipper as well. Brings back memories of Flesh, I mean Flash Gordon shows on the tv w/ rabbit ears and only 12 channels (there was no channel 1). I always thought it was neat how the rocket ships had a muffler that spewed exhaust. I wonder if anyone has opened a Midas Muffler shop on the moon yet? Just askin...

Kings Canyon (Paradise Valley, in particular) is the setting of some of the most memorable times of my life. I always said that if death was one continuous thought lasting for eternity, that would be my heaven.

gettin a crate motor!

For the Navigator. They could not get to the bad lifter so they did several engine flushes. We were coming back from Calexico thru the Salton Sea and it lost all oil pressure and lunched the motor. It was 114 degrees, 2 hours for a tow truck (luckily we were near a restaurant) and then 3 hours, $350 for a tow home. We were covered for 100 miles but were 170 from home. We were just thankful we did not have the animals! Although they have ridden in tow trucks with us before! They are quite well behaved when they finally get into a cab with AC!! So we are on a motorhome trip now and when we get back it should be done.

On a lighter note we spent our first night in our San Felipe home last week. No hot water but the water in the ground was so warm you did not need it!

Monterey Historic Car Races

We can't make it to the races thsi year, but we have a reserved RV site on the track at Laguna Seca right next to the str8's. Looking for someone to take our site. Here is the link to the thread:

http://www.airforums.com/forums/f290...car-44247.html

These sites sell out a year in advance. Great opportunity for a fun long weekend. We are hoping an Airstreamer can take advantage of the opportunity.

John

Hi Str8s,

Should have let me know you were at Kings River. I am not that far away and would have enjoyed seeing you. I am right outside the Sequoia National Park and you could have come here and go through Sequoia to Kings Canyon. Seen it all. You could have parked your rig here and stayed for nothing. I have water and electric, but no dump facilities. Maybe next time. Bet your real happy to have your home to go to in Mexico. Happy traveling.
