I could only hope my twilight years could be as exciting as our two love birds. Let's hope it doesn't turn into hen picking or worse a cock fight.

O.K., what if the train takes off around the middle of July, has a
"meeting up" spot somewere in the middle of CA, with a midway or turn around point (for some) being Crater lake, its about 780 miles from here, a few rv parks in the area ( Prospectrvpark.com) next to Crater lake or closer to the ocean, (tutlerockresorts.com)
Just askin
turtle rock rv park looks fantastic, and they have showers with opposing shower heads on each wall! Prospect RV park also got good reviews and has a Bluegrass festival the second weekend in July, which we could plan for or plan around! Debbie

Route to Crater Lake?
Up the 395 through the Owens Vally, Mammoth and neat old towns. A few turns aside it drops you off in Klamath Falls an hour or two from Crater lake.
Lots of boondock spots and some are on a river.
Karen and I will take that route to avoid the san jaquin vally in June and July when we go boondockin on the ranchs.
Milo, I love the idea of going around the grape vine (my Ford hates that road, way to bumpy), and the drive up through the Mammoth and Bishop area is so nice. My question to you is, you mentioned boondockin/river camping, do you have any recommondations. I know this could draw some heat our way but we are looking for a nice spot we can meet up with my sister from Reno,(they tow an SOB) but they are family so we love them anyway. We still want to continue over to Crater Lake and hook-up with our friends from Seattle (they have an AS), and any one else we can talk into this road trip. We really like everyones ideas regarding traviling at ones own speed, and taking time to smell the roses along the way.

Sounds like we're getting somewhere.
Terry are you up from your nap yet?
Debbie, got a calendar?
Any ideas on dates?
First day somewhere on 395?
Goins, got a spot?
Ending up at Crater Lake area for the Bluegrass fest?
