There has been some back chatter about a January trip to Death Valley.
I think there is interest but the question is dates...

What about the first weekend in January? I know the str8's have a wedding on the 5th but maybe they could high tail it to the Park immediately following the event?

How long are you going to be there Paula?

We could do a Wednesday or Thursday through Monday or Tuesday and overlap with all possible comers?

There is the Winter Rally on the 18th-21st so we don't want to be too close to that date.

What say you, 'streamers?

We are going to be there from the 1st to the 6th....although Ed wants to return on the 5th.....Ron and Debbie can come mid week before.....that would be best for us....pj

Don't think so...I can't be away quite that long.

I would probably leave home on Wednesday ? or Thursday and stay til Monday or Tuesday.

Are you going to the FCU party?
Is anyone else?

Is everyone sleeping already???

where would we camp? if we did it? wilderness or hooks?

I would say all of the above.

Maybe a night or two in the wilderness and then hooks in the Park?

Of course all saloons en route would be thoroughly researched.

And if anyone wants to caravan...jump in!

I think there are ten spaces in DV with hook ups and I'm pretty sure they are taken.

It sounds like there are a lot of campsites in the park that don't take reservations (and don't have hooks).

Do you think we'd have any problem just showing up if we didn't care which sites?

Anyone know?

Across the street from the restaruant and 10 hook ups sites is a 1000 space camping area plus another 4 to 6 campgrounds openr this time of year.

Yahoo. Finally got on line. I'm stuck in Burlingame with no wifi, until now. Don't know how it happened, but I'm taking advantage. I think we may be able to come out on Wednesday, and then maybe drive back in for the wedding, which is in Riverside. Then we would come back for the next couple of days. Of course I haven't checked with Deb about all of this because I am up here and she is down there. I may get a "what were you thinking" call tomorrow when she sees this. R
