Memory is the First to Go

We were going to shoot for Wednesday for Cachuma but one of us forgot that he's in a golf tournament that day. So we are going to try and get there Thursday in the early a.m. Hopefully we can save spots for you folks. R

According to my post rally sypnosis on the Fally Rally thread post 1262 http://www.airforums.com/forums/475707-post1262.html, memory lost is a side effect from a great rally. Usually triggered from post rally withdrawl and excessive consumption of a particular adult beverage called ta-kill-ya.

The only remedy to such traumatic effect is to revisit the root of the problem. More rallies...

So get there Thursday, and hold down a few spots for those who also suffered the same illness. You are not alone, thus, don't try to resolve this alone...

Cachuma Info Repeat

Details, details...

Cachuma Lake Recreation Area
HC 59, Highway 154
Santa Barbara CA 93105
Recorded info: (805)686-5054
(Lots of info...they even tell you how to spell "Cachuma")

Cachuma Lake Recreation Area, Santa Barbara County Parks, Santa Barbara, California
Santa Barbara County Parks, Santa Barbara, California

There are 2 hour "Eagle Cruises" offered on the weekend if you want to hear nature talk. $15/per Smurf.

Camping is $25/night for full hookups.

We (Women's Rally) stayed in the Barona area with full hookups.
Seemed like a nice area...

There is a store, snack shop/grill, gas station, nature center, laundromat, and boat launch etc. within the campground.

That's all I know.

Regards and rally on,
J. Louise

Hiking Info repeat

Lake Cachuma:

Hiking
SELF-GUIDED HIKES
Five trails ranging from a loop to four miles one way can be explored within Cachuma Lake Recreation Area. Within 15 minutes drive or less, you can access multiple hiking trailheads in Los Padres National Forest. Pick up a trail guide at Cachuma Lake.

1. Sweetwater Trail is 2 miles one way between the campgrounds and Bradbury Dam Overlook. Offers good bird watching at either trailhead. Pick up the trail from the campground at Harvey Cove, or from the Overlook at the parking lot.

2. Oak Canyon Nature Trail is mile one way. Access the trailhead at the Cachuma Nature Center or on the road to Cachuma trailer storage

3. Mohawk Loop is mile around the peninsula, passing by a fishing pier. Offers good bird watching. Trailhead can be found at Mohawk Mesa.

4. Mohawk Area Trail extends 1 miles. Informal trails nearby meander through fields and woods. Good bird watching at Jackrabbit Flats. The trailhead is at the creek foot bridge in the Mohawk camping area.

5. Tequepis Trail runs 4 miles one way to the Santa Ynez Mountains ridge line. This trail is not directly accessible from the Recreation Area, but is reachable 1 mile away, off Highway 154. From the parking lot, walk through the camp to the trailhead. As this is Los Padres National Forest land a permit is required for parking.

Take a hike

Great information...

I would hike with the wonderful Ms bamasita anytime on any of those paths, as long as we had adult beverages and a hemi back up, preferably a blue hemi (seat covers and margi ball optional).

just cruisin'

tequila -----$1800 bottle at bevmo

Holy moly!! there is a bottle of tequila at bevmo that sells for $1800 for 750 ml .................wow!! I was looking for a tequila that our local restaurant sells for $25 a shot (189 a bottle) and found the $$$$ one. If we ever win the lotto we will bring a bottle Debbie ( don't line up with your shot glasses since we never play the lotto! )
