Nothing planned yet. But we could be talked into it. We're thinking maybe an Xmas or New Years spent on the coast somewhere.

Uwe, Goin' and us did the HB City Beach (not bolsa chica) last new year eve, and it was wonderful. Lots of food, champagne and campfire, whilst (with all your poetic flaunting earlier, I feel the need to be proper) listening to the waves...very cool.
We might be going to Vegas for New Year this year (family thing), but somewhere close before then, might work for us.
any suggestion? I felt the need to Spon "again"...
how long has it been since the last spon?
=^^=

We did Malibu RV for New Year's last year. The avatar photo is from that trip. It was beautiful as usual. Any beach is usually a good bet. R

Mt. Picachu is 6 hours from Time and 7 from Str8stream.
We're also free the weekends of the 7th & 14th. Lets go boondockin!

Possible Escape Plan
There was a nice article about Death Valley National Park in the November 2007 issue of Sunset magazine...all 3.3 million acres of mountain and desert.
Badwater Basin, Zabriskie Point, Scotty's Castle, Artist's Palette, Furnace Creek Inn etc. all not far from Goin's Panamint Springs.
Emigrant Campground sites are tent only but it looks like all the rest are open and all but Furnace Creek are first come first serve. Most have dump stations and water (and toilets) and generators are okay (7am to 7pm).
Check out the website. I think it's a keeper.
Anyone wanna give it a whirl?
Raise your hand...

Death Valley is a great place and I'll go even though its full of people. The Panamint Valley next door though has no people. Hmmm.

Death Valley is a great place......we are actually tagging along with a WBCCI rally the first week in January....Furnace Creek Resort has a few hookups that are reservable....I think they are a private entity.....we will want to go back I am sure---there is sooooooooo much to see there!!! pj

Mr. Goinalloverthedesert,
Please elaborate about the Panamint Valley.
Any towns? Campgrounds? Services? Alien sightings?

Bamasita, I believe P.V. is boondockin' only.
There might be alien sightings, make sure you bring lots of aluminum foil!

Any towns? One only, Trona. Average cost of a home is 29,000.00
Campgrounds? Wherever you camp is a campground.
Services? Nope.
Alien sightings? Yes often along with fighter jets practicing.
Law enforcement? Not hardly. So bail money is not required.

Just sayin. Rudy

How far are the National Park sights from where one might boondock?
Could we park it somewhere in the boonies and do day trips?
It sounds quite intriguing...
