Greetings

Good morning Cal Streamers and friends,
Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We're doing it today. Yesterday I spent it with my other family at the old firehouse. We had about 25 there with the famililies that showed up. I understand that our cruise director had 26 at Casa Bamasita. How'd that go? Paula, that turkey that Steve is holding looks like it could feed 6 and still weigh 23 pounds. Enjoy the rest of the weekend folks. R

Lessons learned at my first CA Streamers Event

What hints (certainly not rules!) can I offer to first-time participants?
1) Never assume that all Airstream's parked in a group are part of the same rally--you never know--there could be more than one event taking place.
2) Make sure to ask the gatekeeper if someone paid him/her to locate you off in the corner behind the fence.
3) Don't expect the highly paid greeter to come and greet you.
4) Make twice as much chili as originally planned.
5) Don't miss the group field trips
6) Mark you calender for the next event ASAP.
7) Include a big THANK YOU to all for making you feel welcome on your first visit.

My little trailer and I had a great time. Thanks again.

Greg

Greg,
It was nice meeting you. Next time, if you play your cards right, we'll let you in to the front row. And we'll get that greeter back on his job. See you soon. Ron

Front row and Greeters

Ron,

I know the rowdy group now...don't need the greeter. But please, make sure he greets the next newby.

Front row, eh? Maybe next time I'll have to plan on bringing two food items instead of just one!

Greg

Kman,

So far its working out extrmely well. Takes less than a half day to fully recharge after an evening and night of lights and furnace. If I had it do do all over again. I would.

Hi, Goin camping. Can you hijack this thread and give all of us, inquireing minds, more details and pictures about your solar experiences? Really interested.

As to the Solar. It was the standard Airstream install with an 85w panel and multi stage charger. A single panel between the A/C and the front vent. Sorry to say I don't have a ready way to snap a photo from above. We had it done at C&G. They offer three sizes of panels and we chose the middle one. It'll recharge the batts daily to keep the furnace and lights running all night.

FC Update!

For those who may be interested here is an update on our loud but dear friend the FC (Funky Chicken, Festive Chicky, Foolish Cheeper, Frightening Chirper, Fowl Chubbster, Fabulous Chick, Frustrating Clucker, Future Carving, or just plain F'in Chicken...you decide).

S/He has turned over a new leaf for the holiday season and has (however temporarily) sworn off being annoying and irritating (to the point of a well deserved choking) and is now full of love and holiday cheer.

FC is sporting a lovely new sweater emblazoned with the new sentiment and can't wait to see you all at the next rally.

Watch for future updates...

Season's Greetings,
The FC

Since the world famous FC has so many important functions (and rallies) to attend, he/she/it/them/they should be allowed as many outfits/costumes/accessories/thrift store rejects as possible.

I'll see if we can find an appropriate piece of quality luggage.

That is one travelin' Flatfooted Clucker.

Hi All,

After waking up to a view of sunrise at Lake Elsinore, we arrived in Tucson late Sunday..We're here at the Cactus Country RV in Tucson...great campground, btw: tether ball, hot, hot showers w/lots of room to turn around, Bam, wi-fi, fitness room, pool, spa, dog run area (just watch out for all that prickly cactus)..Steve went hunting and got his mate for the quail..pretty little guy, don't think he'll need a costume, tho'..going to check out Tombstone tomorrow and look for Doc Holiday and Big Nose Kate
