Hi, chapparel. Looks like you got a herd of puppies. We are still pet-less, but plan on getting a pound/rescue dog in about two years. Hopefully after we move to a new location. For now we just envy those who have pets.

Wind Generators?

Anyone have any experience with wind power?
(No, not that kind of wind...sheeesh)
I was talking with the Airstream Dealer today about the

400W Wind Generator by SunForce Products.

It looks quite interesting and I like the portability
and not having to carry around gas cans...

Four hundred watts doesn't sound like much. What can you do with it? Green is good. Ron

I looked it up and see that you can keep your battery charged and run 12V appliances. The good news is that with Kevin and Giggle Pants around, it does stay pretty windy. Ron

Hi, Bam. That's about four times as much as one decent size solar cell, [ask Milo] But you need to mount it higher than your trailer's roof and need a little bit of wind. I have heard that some camp grounds don't like them, but I can't verify that. I was thinking about one of these too. Like anything else, pro's and con's, Where and how to mount it, what to do if the wind get really strong, [how to stop it and take it down] and cost versus benefit. I decided on getting a generator so I can run my microwave and/or air conditioner. As for carrying gas, I decided to just pump some gas out of my Lincoln as I need it; I don't want to carry gas cans.

We brought the 345 home from getting the hitch upgraded. We went from a 2000 lb. capacity to 10,000. Now if some lonely old car wants to follow us home, we can handle it. In the meantime, the next time you see us with a toad, it will be the little jewel below.

Yes. Under certain circumstances, Uwe's twin brother gets a little silly. Usually in the late evening. Ron

Robert,
The mount (if its the same sort of thing that I've seen in the past) is a plate the you roll your AS tire onto. Upright the the rod that's attached to it.
I couldn't find the ad that had this set-up but the wind getup that Bam has above looks the same.

A Moho Mini-Me!

John Cooper would be proud to see a Mini being pulled by another classic icon. You better shop for one of those gravel guards to keep the front of the Mini looking good...can't have a beat up car in the stable.
