He got a wicked case of probable food poisoning and has had a very rough evening. Milo developed an abcess from a stick he stepped on at San Clemente hitting him in the thigh and puncturing the skin. He had minor surgery on Thursday which made it worse and pretty big surgery yesterday. He had a couple of drains in his leg and he and I are spending the night together so he does not have to wear the dreaded plastic collar. This is his first experience with the collar and he can't quite figure out how to walk forward, only backwards! We would love to do a road trip in July. Debbie............

So sorry to hear your "children" are under the weather. We once had a collar for one of our girls, and it was out of the question. She had a benign tumor removed and I just had to stay with her 24/7 until it almost healed.
July Road Trip, sounds better than caravan, but then again, I don't care what we call it as long as we go....

Uh...and what is this ? A message of Love, I think not, I am frankly confused that such a kind, caring, liberal leftist would make such a comment. Hobbits everywhere are stunned at the obvious slur, where has humanity taken us, when even hobbits are singled out because of their unique features?
I hope you can sleep tonite!
I didn't know....
Where I come from, everybody says that....
I gather information, process it, and make a determination...
I say that about lots of people....
Why didn't he tell us it bothered him??
Okay that's all the bad excuses for insensitivity that I can come up with at the moment (Bam already stated the all time classic). You got me. Mea maxima culpa. But if giving up my chaste reputation as a die hard liberal is what it took to get this thread busy, it was worth it. To paraphrase Sheiff Bart: To be perfectly honest, it was getting pretty boring around here.
And by the way, I didn't sleep well. But it had to do more with what I ate than what I said. Ron

Sorry to hear that, Ron...
Are you feeling better? Better watch what you eat now a day, especially late night/early morning at a rally...
just sayin'

Ron, happy to hear you are feeling better after the bad tummy probs. I wish Milo a fast recovery after this awful leg surgery. He is a great child. I would enjoy going on a road trip wherever, or to the Pendleton Roundup since I am a Cowgirl or sorts. I will be watching for when to progress to the agress spot.

Hi, get well Ron & Milo. Food poisoning is not fun, been there, done that, more times than I like to remember. But it makes me more cautious of what and where I eat. All four of my past dogs had to wear the plastic collar; We called them "cone heads" My Beagle would just slam his way through the doggie door for instant removal of his cone. I did notice that the smaller and lower to the ground dogs had a harder time with the cones, but they really have to have them. [we spent more money on medical for our dogs that we did for ourselves]
I came across this gadget, called the Inflatable Collar for dogs. Instead of the cone, this seems to be a better alternative. Here's the link to the product and another link where you can order online if you are interested.
