Oh, sure-- just keep reminding me of how beautiful it is and how it's still 5 months away....

Just kidding, thanks for the pics!

The campground said there are still plenty of spaces left.

I'd love to see it full of Airstreams.

Ok Ralliers!

It's time to get down to the nitty gritty. Shall we put some ideas together for themes and events? Anyone have any requests or ideas?

Here's a few ideas that I thought of for Saturday Nights potluck:

Octoberfest
Wally and Stella Bynum-World Travelers
Western theme, Cowboys and Girls
BBQ Contest
Zombie Outbreak

Or we could all just pretend to be Airsteam enthusiasts that love to get together for a good time

Let me know what you think,
Oh, by the way, there are still plenty of spaces left if anyone wants to join in the fun.

I love all these ideas! I would like to be a Cowgirl at Octoberfest. My husband would likely make a good zombie. He's practicing right now...zoned out in front of the TV while I pack the AS for Santa Cruz tomorrow.

Maybe we could have a pumpkin carving contest? They would look awesome lit up in front of our TTs. Would also make some cozy photo ops.

That's a great idea!

I can just imagine the creative pumpkins we'll see.

Finally located our reservation confirmation sheet. We arrive 10/18 and depart on 10/22. We will be in the full hookup site #454.

Got to get back to packing the AS for a long weekend trip to Lake Cachuma up in the wine country above Santa Barbara.

See you all at Rivernook!

Well now we're really excited. Just came back from a weekend camping trip (with the trailer of course) in Sequoia National Forest, and happened to do a hike to Packsaddle Cave on the way out. This led us to take 99 out and we passed right through Kernville. I realized that Rivernook was around, but never spotted it.

Now I have tons of items to think about visiting when we return...

It's too bad that the temperatures will be too cold for the Natural Water Slide

Peter it might not be too cold if there is Oktoberfest involved. This could be a new tradition? Hold my beer, watch this!

Im slightly embarrassed to post this on such an intelligent forum, but this is the famous picture of myself that came from last weekend at the natural water slide. No beverages were needed for me to attempt the speed record, and I'm pretty sure I succeeded in setting it. We could also bring wet suits to assist. It is a 45 minute drive from the campground, but who's counting?

That looks awsome! I never even knew that was up there.

We've hiked for hours looking for some tea cup water falls only to find out that we had bad directions.

Wow, looks like fun. Is this an annual thing? We're in for next year.

Yes it is! This will be the sixth year.

It is usually hosted by Bam (Laurel) and she's the hostess with the mostess for sure! But she had a scheduling conflict so I'm helping out this year.

We drove up last weekend and checked in with the campground. They still have about 20 sites available, including several of the premium pull throughs which usually go first.

Sounds good. Maybe if there are last minute spaces available, we can tag along? Going to another rally in September and don't want to overwhelm my other half, but I suspect that AFTER that one, there will be momentum. Cheers.

actually, I got the month mixed up: we're going to Jackson Rancheria in October, not September. Oops. Well, next year!

What do you mean ".... Oops. Well, next year". There will be more than a few of us doing BOTH rally's! See you at Jackson Rancheria and hopefully at Rivernook. Lots of great folks at both events.

We're also doing both rallies. It wouldn't be like us to pass up a good time!

Like I said there's room for more.

Question, I saw that Rivernook list one of its amenities as "Mountain Biking" but...do they have good bike riding for the less aggressive?

I haven't been on any of the mountain biking trails around there, but the park is big enough to ride on your bikes. We usually always travel with our bikes, but we're beach cruiser kinda people . You could probably ride into town on your bikes, but there is one pretty good hill to get over on the way there. That would take you right past the brewery

There are also alot of hiking trails, from very easy to moderate. A few miles up the road at Johnsondale bridge is a trail head that will take you along the river for miles. We usually take a stroll through the park, which goes a ways out along the river.
