CA Streamers Fall Rally ~ Rivernook 6 ~

Time to check your calendars, and get that campground on the phone! Yup it's the Fall Rally coming up.

Taking place in Kernville California.

October 18 - 21, 2012.

Everyone is welcome!

No clubs, no dues, just call and make you own reservations. We'd love to have you join in the fun.

Rivernook Campground
14001 Sierra Way
Kernville, CA 93238
(760) 376-2705
Rivernook Campground Camping Main

There are more than 50 sites still available. Most with full hookups. A few are right on the Mighty Kern River. This is a large park, with lot's of room to spread out. There are no scheduling conflicts this year with the vintage trailer group BTW.

Kernville is a small town with lots of character.
Activities include:
Shopping for antiques.
River rafting.
Fishing.
Golfing.
Hiking.
A museum.
Lot's of restaurants to choose from.
Hanging out at the saloon.
Oh and just a few blocks from the campground is the Gold Medal winning micro brew Kern River Brewing Company.

The schedule is gonna be something like this:
Thursday - Dinner at the Pizza Barn
Friday - Meet and greet with Horderves and Cocktails
Saturday - Pot Luck Dinner

You're just the coolest Lianne...

Now is this just a girls club thing or are boys invited this time?

The guys are welcome too! And maybe even kids

Thanks Vinnie! You and Cindy should come! Venture over to our side of California. Maybe you'll even make it into my next book

It's the weekend after Jackson, but we're hoping some of you northern folks will join in the fun too.

Sounds like some of us NorCal folks should make it into a caravan from Jackson during the week and find ourselves there on a thursday in time to watch you guys arrive?

Bring it on. We need to get these California Streamers back together, this sounds like the perfect opportunity. Kernville is practically our backyard, we could be there anytime if the party needs to be extended. Just sayin

I'm pretty sure us So Cal Streamers like shrimp too.

Welcome Jason & Family!

I'll think you'll find the creek quite lovely that time of year. Here's a shot of it at the rally last year.

OK I think I'll have to find a way to miss my Saturday classes for this one. I love Sequoia NP. Beautiful area, and camping on the Kern?!?!

Plus, I need to meet all the people on these forums in person at SOME point. I can't hide from you all forever.

We made our reservation before we left the rally last year. We have one of the full hookup pull thru sites on the lower level (not the dust bowl site we had last year), but with my chemo brain I can't remember the site number. I believe it is the same site BamCamper had last year.

I think it would be great to see the NorCal group do a caravan from Jackson and join us! It would be fantastic to see them, they are a very fun bunch of 'streamers.

Awesome. I love kids, used to be a camp director for a long time. And Marie knows how to make a pretty good carmelized Peep over the fire.

And in general, I'm really excited about this trip. I went from two weeks ago not knowing what I was doing this summer, to this week having a 10 day Norcal/Oregon trip, a backpacking trip, a planned summit of a 14er, and now this trip to meet some Airstreamers and do some more hiking.

October is so far away!!!!

The reservation office is open at 9 a.m. I'm gonna be all over this like a dirty shirt!
Any specific sites I should shoot for?

Sounds like the river sites (424-440) are full. There will be a few Airstreams over there, and SOB's that book a year out also.

There are a lot of really nice spots. There's "Airstream Row" (441-455) which is all pull throughs. Beaver Pond Creek runs right down the middle of the park and those spots are all nice. Off the creek, 418-423 are really good.

Last year, a bunch of us got stuck at the furthest row in the park, on the main dirt & dusty road by the front gate, but we had a good time. Here's a map and a spot we had on the creek (58 or 59, can't remember) in February during Whisky Flat Days.

Yeah! We've got trailers at 59 and 60, so let's finish filling up the creek!! Then we can all take photo contest winning pictures :-)

Peter, after looking at the map closer, I'm now pretty sure that photo above is actually space 46. BUT those spaces all down the creek are great. 48 & 50 are next to the road, but 51-60, and 113 are maybe the best on the creek and should be a little bigger spaces than 41-48, which you can see are very nice.
