It is Saturday at the rally. Last night was very informal and we got to talk to many old and new friends. This AM is sprinkled a bit and was cloudy.
The happy hour is starting with the food coming soon. Nice weather now, warmish with a breeze.
That is it for now since there is no WiFi and the AT&T Edge is slooooowww (no 3g)!

Kernville 2008
Made it home safely from a fabulous weekend with some real fine people that really know how to have a good time. Ron and Laurel really know how to dress up a Pimp your Lounge Chair Potluck. Can hardly wait for next year, but I hopefully will be able to get together with them before a year goes by. Thank you all.

Thanks Martha.
It was nice to see you too.
It was a fun weekend with lots of great people
and an amazing collection of food at the potluck.
Thanks for playing everyone!
It was such a big group I hope I got a chance to say hello to everyone.
I just got home so I'll post more tomorrow with some photos.
I have a trailer to unload...

Potluck photos
Nicely done Paula.
I'm not sure if this photo was your reaction to
Ron's Lounge Lizard Persona (he was working that pretty hard wasn't he?)
or Martha's sassy red boots
or Chris & Kim's winning Pimped Lounge Chair entry.
And I got to meet so many handsome gentlemen.
Wow.
It was quite a night!

Strange bottles
I have no idea where this *ahem* tiny bottle came from.
A lively discussion followed about where we put the warm milk and iced tea
that we usually enjoy at rallies. It was also kindly pointed out to Kevbo
the value of consuming everything in very small bottles...

Great pix, which begs the question: what about next year at the same time, same place, ?
The sites filled up soo fast, and it seems that quite a few 'streamers were left with sites quite a distance away from party central. This was one of the best centralized destinations for those coming from opposite ends of the state, perhaps plans should be considered for making reservations soon?..just sayin'..paula

Sounds good Paula. Apparently the campground is under new management and is one of the few that allows reservations up to 2 years in advance. I'll ask around and do an informal "poll" and see what dates people would be interested in. It's so hard to get a date that works for absolutely everyone. Usually it works best to ask around and then just pick one and announce it. I'll try for about the same time.
Unless of course someone else would like to do some calling and organizing which would be just great. Anyone?
Otherwise watch this thread for some announcements coming soon...

In 2009 the weekins for October are on Fri 9, Fri. 16, Fri. 23, of coarse these are the 3 weekins in the middle of the month. I vote for any one of them, with the 16th being my #1 choice, however any will work.

Thanks again Laurel for organizing this wonderful trip. Chris and I had such a great time. The camp grounds were beautiful and the group of Airstreamers were the best. We cant wait to go back.. This time without the Lounge...
We are totally up for a return trip next year just let us know the date.

Oct 16, 2009 is good for me. Or even the 30th (with Halloween being celebrated there!)

The Can Clan is on board in spot 442. I hope to be near one of my new best buds, Sixt3TW4US. I tried for spot 439, across from Party Central and in the Kern River Rapids, but it's already taken. The sound of the river at night was very refreshing. Now that I'm back home, I sleep with my hand in a warm bowl of water next to the bed. Not quite the same effect.
