First time burning!

Hey guys this will be my first time this year.

I've no camp to join sounds like you guys know what you're doing!!

I'm building an grey water evaporator should average about 40 gallons a day on 2.5 amps given the average temp/humidity. I purchases enough parts for two systems.

I'm bringing 275g of water in a tote.

I'm also a recreational pilot so I'm happy to volunteer at the airport. Is a member here involved with them?

Last question is there any captain for the theme camp to organize us? How many go? Should we divide up responsibilities? For example there's no reason I can't scale up the grey water evaporator.

That might be 200g too much.

The Captain is Perry. I am the Lieutenant, also known as the wrangler. I organize the camp, provide for ingress and egress routes for the pump trucks, align the bar with the street, provide for art car parking, try to keep the generator Burners away from the non-generator, pair up partner Airstreams, etc., etc.

All will be revealed in due time. Contact plex@burningman.org for info on volunteering at the airport.

Welcome russellt!

Actually there is no official "captain". Sorry dear Zep. We are a loosely organized group, purposely, and we all contribute in various ways. Everyone brings different things to the table and we all step up to do whatever is necessary to make our camp fun, productive, and welcoming to the community. Participation is a must. In whatever way you choose.

We welcome all comers and haven't run out of room yet. Usually after all the Airstreamers arrive we open up the leftover space to whoever needs it.

There are many hats available. And they rotate depending on who shows up. Come on down/over/up and join us. We're easy.

I know it's a lot of water, but my guess is someone will need it, so it's something to share.

It is a great gift and requires no small effort on your part to make it possible. Experience shows that the camp will appreciate it.

What Bam says is true. You will see it in action as you participate with us.

40 Gallon per day evaporator?? 40 Gallon?? Wowsers

Just what I need in order to dry out when I succumb to the temptations of De Mentha Camp LOL

As they say on TV, "Come on down!"

Cheers!

Gifting water? Absolutely!

Water would make a nice addition to our bar. It's easy to find adult beverages all over the playa but rare to find water offered. Water bottle refills and next morning hydration would be great. It's hot out there!

Since Huggy Bear (aka Phil) and Handshake (aka Izzie) are not coming this year, I will have access to a "monkeyhut" style shade structure and a 10' by 10' flex-bow kodiak canvas tent with a home-made small evaporative cooler this year, in case someone has friends/family coming without an airstream, or if, for example, Steve and Rachael decide at the last minute to fly in and don't mind really roughing it without their fancy rig. I will have at least one extra burner bike too if someone needs it.

I wanted to report that last year I had a “soft start “ installed on my single air conditioner on our 25 ft. It does allow operation of the air conditioner on one Honda 2000. The key to success is to make sure the refer remains on Lp and that other 110 stuff is all off so that the generator is not burdened with other things. Got about 3+ hours of operation on a tank of gas. It’s enough time to nap in the afternoon. I closed the sliding doors and adjusted the vent to cool only the kitchen area. Vinnie installed ours. The device fits into some extra space within the air conditioner.

Welcome, thrice welcome! I'm the chief grump and formologist. No one else is allowed to be grumpy. And I delegated the application form to Gigi and she did so much better job at the bamboozling formology than I ever could. Come on down, we'll leave a light on for you. If we are accepted by the Playa Gods again this year, we'll put out a note where we won't be. Or maybe where the Gods said they think they're going to put us but that can change before we get there because of their ever live placement map. We're usually somewhere around 3:00 and WTF out there somewhere about H or I. you look for the shiny aluminum and a bunch of folks waving at you to come in!!!. Just join in, newbies will be asked for 5 questions out of the Survival Guide that you get with your tickets that you can look up driving through under ancient Lake Lahonton on you way through Nevada. I'll probably have a few test questions about the ancient beach gravel beds and Travertine Turtles you drove past at the shore of Lake Winnemucca and if if you saw the wild asses on the burn area before Empire and

no worries. Your job as newbies is MOOP patrol, bring your grossingest butterflugin genettest and be catching any MOOP flying by camp.
And again, Thrice Welcome!

Oh. You could fill out the Volunteer questionnaire in your Burner Profile and check the spot for Airport, they will for sure kidnap you for shifts on the Airport. I did that a couple of years until I got too busy being camp grump and DMV Wrangler.

I'm thinking Fireball or homebrewed absinthe could be a theme for Monday night meet and greet.

Perry. also know as dumb f or hey you or NevadaGeo

Make sure to click on photo so you can read the comment. It's Larry's AS from last year after the Burn. Powerful.
