1. Very quick flushes to minimize introduction of flush water
2. For femes, get a pee funnel so you can [relatively] comfortably use a porta-pot for #1.
3. Bring backup poop baggies for the emergency situation when you have filled the black tank. These are the "approved" devices mandated by BLM when you do back country hikes. I'm thinking they may fit nicely into the Aqua Magic bowl.
4. As a very last resort, the porta-pots are always available--get a clothespin for you nose and sanitary seat covers...etc. etc.

Unfortunately true.
In the toilet strategy answer above, I forgot to mention what most Burners would have mentioned:
5. Honey trucks cruise the playa, so along around Wed or Thurs, you can flag them down and get pumped. That's a big reason the parking is carefully arranged--so the pump truck can get to all the Airstreams that need them.
As a matter of principle, I try to avoid needing such services ( radical self-reliance).

For the record, the porta potties are pumped and cleaned every morning. They really are usable especially if you are way out in the playa. Not as nice as your own, but, there ya have it.

Just cash. A lot. But...an empty black tank on a hot day can be priceless.

Just wishing all you burners a bon voyage for your stay on the playa.
I'm still stuck in the "default world" with my downsizing, selling, need to get next (solar, new TV), issues. So I lurk around here keeping some of that home on the playa vibe, BMIR helps too.

Looking at the Burning Man live web feed today - looks like the playa is getting mud today rather than dust. Ah, the joys of the desert! Ya'll have fun!

Dear Airstream Burners,
Is there by chance still a spot available in the Airstream camp? My mother in law threw her hip out today and may not be able to attend, but will still let me borrow her Rialta to attend. She was to stay in mobility camp but I don't feel right taking the spot. Would be nice to join a rally, even if my international CCD is at home.
Cheers
Airstream Dad

Yes, go to 3:00 and "I" and look for the camp. It will be within 1/2 block of that corner.
Wish I could be there to park you.

Can you let the other campers know about my friends wedding! Its at the temple on Thursday at 7:00pm. I decorated the boots and made the dress and headress! Patrick and I drove that package to Santa Cruz in the middle of the (last) night! Its Ari and CHris' wedding, please go and wish them well.
They are also at the OMitting camp, at 9:45 and B. There they will record your om and put it with all the other recordings to get the sound of BM! So fun!
have fun all!

I have been enjoying it. My employer's sister is part of the Apis Inlusio group out of San Francisco. They are the folks with the big, rolling bee.

The webcam is awesome. Would be great though if they had a webcam that could rotate internet users. See it through someone else's eyes.
Next year hoping to be there in person.

So I stand corrected. I've since stopped by a few times and have enjoyed watching where the "pilot" takes the camera. Would love to run it myself for a bit . . .
