First off Julie, sorry for your loss. My Mom died in March and it was really hard.

To all, we will be leaving Seattle area next Sunday morning some time and expect to overnite maybe in southern OR. We expect to arrive on Monday morning. We will have a long Silverado and a 25ft Flying Cloud. We will also have two 2000 watt generators with a 30 amp plug.

Perry, do we need to bring some shade material? We will also have some blue tape, duct tape, dust masks, goggles etc. Our FW water tank will be full and we will have drinking water as well. Are there any pump trucks coming for our gray and black water tanks? Let me know if you need some specific hardware or parts.....

See you on the Playa,

Dan

I know I may have mentioned this before, but we are camping in Blackrock Yearbook Camp and if you all would like to have a camp picture taken, come visit us at (approx) 4:45 and inner circle- we can arrange for our mobile photographers that can shoot right at your camp! Just look for our Airstream Cutter Bus with the graphic of the mountain on the back and Texas plates. See you on the playa!

Wish that I could, fresh out here at the ranch in Mexico. When I go back to FL to visit my Mother I will get some good scans for next year.

Are you folks brave enough to use your awnings at BM? I usually anchor the outside corners to the ground. Will that be enough? Thenaybe put awing in if winds get really high? What do you think?

Dadstoy, This is my first time and I will not be using my awning. I have trouble with the damn thing in good conditions. We are bringing a shade structure though.

Soft Conditions..

Hate to report this report from 3:00::::

Howdy all!

HepKitten has landed on playa! And she has a bit of info to pass along to
all of you 3:00 camps.

Looks like the playa is a little soft in the 3:00 area. Hep is
recommending that you may want to bring a large piece of wood to drag
across some of the softer areas to smooth it out. Probably something you
can drag behind your vehicle.

I will let you know more if I hear from her or the other placers. I will
be around until Tuesday night, after that we will be seeing you all at
3:00!

Bravo...

sooooo any ideas on what? Seems like we have landed on some dust worms before and it has worked out. Perhaps nailing down great aunt betsie's favorite tapestry under your door step.
But even I, who hatesss dust masks, have gone out and gotten a dust mask or two.

Dan, I think I have enough shade pieces for my carport canopie. And have also cobbled up welding some washers on rebar for the hold downs. (someday I gotta get a real welder, not that fake buzz box).

Be sure to put in stores some soda water or vinegar to rinse the ph 9+ alkalyi dust off your feet when you get back to camp.

Cool! Got that in in time for the editing. I'm listing arrive' time for the wranglers benefit to make it the hardest to park for the mostest. Anybody coming after Tuesday PM?

Somebody remind me, we gotta bring a rake for MOOP patrol.
and I haven't done one rant about everyone required to have a MOOP bucket yet, I'm getting better.
Fight fight fight, everybody fight...
ok fighting's over,
Partyyyy on!

If you have been reading the Burning Man newsletter, Jack Rabbit Speaks, you've heard that it is VERY dusty this year with lots of evening white outs.

I won't be deploying my awning but others do and if well secured it works okay.

This wind/dust will make decorating our lovely trailer park challenging but it's all part of the adventure.

Mats are most helpful but of course they need to be pinned down with tent stakes or something similar. Make sure that the edges are bound or bind them yourself with duct tape. Those green "grass" mats can really fray and cause moop headaches as we chase down those random green hairs.

I'm heading out later this week and will be arriving this weekend with Wanda and Lola to plaster our camp with assorted small signs.

Wow. It's coming up fast now!

Looking forward to seeing everyone...

Just to update the list, we will arrive Tuesday, mid-day. The Playa Queen is ready, and loaded on the truck.

As for the wind and dust, I guess we will just have to embrace the suck.......
