Burning man 2012

Hi everyone, know alot of you just got back from Burning Man. I went last year by myself but missed it this year unfortunately. Would love to camp with the Airstream group next year but a bit of a question for you please. I have 2 airstreams, a 1959 Globester and a 76 Overlander. I used my hsuband's truck for the 2010 burn and he wasnt too thrilled whe he got it back. So for 2012 I want to go but am thinking of tenting it because lack of a truck I can use to pull the 59. In the AS group, are u open to anyone using a tent as long as they have a airstream or belong to WBCCI which we do? I am more than willing to help or pay some dues for shade structure etc. Contemplating taking my Prius and a tent by myself. Thx for the info! PS: I have good wine

It's a casual group of Airstreamers who camp together at our Burning Man theme camp. No special requirements and no dues. It is an Airstream themed camp however with all kinds of Airstreams assembled. There may be enough space to squeeze in a tent but of course it is way too early to tell. At this point it has not been decided what kind of theme camp or even for sure if we will be doing it again.

Check back around the first of next year or when tickets go on sale. It's very easy to find people to camp with. See you on the playa in 2012!

Rally on,
and no, those photos are not me.

since I can't sleep I might as well give advice.
The group you are looking for is Burnstream Court, I will let them speak for themselves. I would guess that there are hundreds of Airstreams at Burning Man. The two theme camps had probably fifty combined last year. The scale of the place is difficult. Fifty thousand people with more than ten thousand vehicles.
If you are an experienced boondocker it should be no problem. If not, figuring out your waste stream may take some attention since you can't dump unless you catch a honey truck. Not difficult in a group but someone needs to hang out to get the trucks as they pass. There are porta-potties Ice is for sale. Bring "ALL" the food and water you expect to use or share.
Read the new burners guide.
