Here's a panorama taken Thursday morning from the tower behind us on G. Click here for a link to a larger version.

My backpack has been located! It's currently in Seattle, but will hopefully be making its way home to me soon. That means I'll have more pics of the Airstreamers to put up.

Have any of our Airstreameri & Geologists Camp drop in residents joined AirForums yet? I know it's only been a week since we got back and most of us are still shaking dust out of our ears, but I am looking forward to continuing the acquaintances we started in the desert.

Paul, I love your pictures! Beautiful!

My camera did indeed find its way home, along with my backpack and all its contents. Hooray for good hearted people! Now to design and knit a Burning Man "thank you" hat.

Here is a link to my second set of Burning Man 2011 pics, this one has lots of Airstreamers in it.

Here are some pictures for those who don't want to sift through the 90+ pictures on the link above. We had a blast with all of you who were there and thought of all of you who weren't.

We're all green, folks! Hats off to Perry and Charly who monitored our moop and led a final, thorough sweep on Tuesday morning.

Three cheers for Leave No Trace!

It's more thanks to Charly for taking on our Moop Master chores, great job Charly! Was a scare there from someone's unraveling older astroturf that tried to plant a zillion astroturf seeds.
Note for future years: When we invite folks in or give away some of our cherished won playa-scape, we should remind them of the Leave No Trace concept. I have a bucket full of oily playa dirt I shoveled up from under where one of our late arriving SOB had camped. Its amazing how deep motor oil will penetrate into the dry playa. I'm sure they had no idea their new-old machine has those leaks. The folks that used the unused area we relinquished did a great job of Mooping too.
It's only been a month since playa time? It seems like years already. It takes me months and months to get back into this clean other reality world.

BLM inspection is Friday.. If it dries enough, and doesn't rain anymore!

I scooped a bit more oil up with a plastic cup, just a few cubic inches, though. I didn't want any spots on our territory. Many people don't think to look under their parked vehicles for clandestine moop.

News from the Balloon Fiesta: It seems that several new folks in the Central CA WBCCI unit are going to attend next year. I've asked them to get in touch with Perry and assured them that the group would take care of Burgins.

BRAVO!! For some that might not know, this means Burning Man LLC gets to apply to the BLM to have the event at the Black Rock Desert location for another year. I believe they are on a year by year basis at the moment. If BM had not passed the BLM MOOP inspection, then it would not be a good scene when they go to the meetings to apply. There are some folks that think the event does damage to the playa and wish to stop it. So thanks everybody for doing our part in making next year possible!

Hi Barbie and Bart,

Apologies for joining late to the AirForums. Hope you and Bart are back to a "normal" life.

In case you have forgotten, this is Gary and Ellen (19' Bambi) with the sideshow/cotton candy group.

Thanks for the photos. They are wonderful and brings us right back to BM. What a great experience it was. And made all the more enjoyable by meeting you and your family and the other Airstreamers. Our group was very fortunate to have "found" the Airstream camp.

Say hi to Bart.

Hey Gary and Ellen! Thanks so much for joining us. You know now you will be required to be front and center again for next year. I never did get any of that cotton candy, always seem to be "out". Hmmmm, I wonder if it comes in Bacon flavor? That really impressed me you came with the NV Food Police license!

Sad news, Tuna Guy is missing at sea. Most of us have shared some of their tuna, last year's sushimi that Mark Parker put on was from the Tuna Guys.
