Shameless Plug . . .

for Feed the Artists.

Hello fellow Burners and 'Streamers,

Please consider supporting Feed the Artists by either contributing to Feed the Artists' Kickstarter campaign, Rites of Cabbage: Feed the Artists at Burning Man 2011 by Feed the Artists — Kickstarter or by hosting an artist group for dinner at your camp.

Using Kickstarter is easy.

You enter your intended pledge, select a reward level, and then Kickstarter will count your “pledge” towards the $2,500 goal. We have 2 days left and we need to raise $500 more. If we raise the full amount by August 10th, only then will your credit card or Paypal account be charged. If we don’t reach the goal, we won’t get any of the pledges offered. Nothin'. (Which would be a bummer for the whole crew who have been working, literally, since we left the playa last year. And for the hard working and deserving artists left to eat their granola bars, slim jims, and packets of Emergen-C all alone and unsupported.)

Any pledge you can give will help and will be appreciated. No amount is too small or insignificant.

This year camps are able to invite artists for dinner during Burn week! It's super easy. Just go to www.feedteartists.net register and choose which artists you'd like to invite to dinner! It's a great way to meet the incredible artists that give so much of their time and talent so that we can enjoy their works of art on the Playa. We did it last year at BurnStream Court and found it to be one of the most rewarding and meaningful experiences we've had at Burning Man. The image below is of the Moroccan dinner that we hosted last year.

To sweeten things up , we’ve got some amazing gifts to share with you if you pledge:
$10 or more will be invited to have a mid-day beer with us during the Burn;
$25 will get you a sticker or a 10-minute massage during Burning Man,
$50 will either get you either a t-shirt or a 30-minute chair massage in San Francisco
$50 can also arrange to attend a dinner party hosted by an FtA volunteer in DC, Charlotte, Atlanta, Reno, San Francisco, or Santa Barbara - truly a fabulous experience
$75 donors can choose a very limited edition handmade ceramic Feed the Artists medallion
$100 donors can choose from an invitation to an extravagant dinner with us, or an incredible private evening and dinner with Dr. Megavolt, Dan Das Mann, or Charlie Smith!
$125 will receive the FtA cornucopia: a medallion, t-shirt, and sticker
$200 donors will get both the cornucopia AND an invitation to an extravagant Feed the Artists meal
Donations of $500 donors will receive a private on-playa cooking class with one of our resident chefs for you and a guest!
Extraordinary donations of $1000 or more will be able to work with the entire Feed the Artists crew to arrange an extraordinary dinner for two or more.

Thank you in advance for your consideration and generosity of spirit.

Your dusty friends,

Jitney and the Beader will be attending at another camp. Sorry, I didn't realize this thread was even open. Haven't been lurking on the forums much lately.
We've made other plans, but will drop by to say hi.

Planning attempt per Perry's post

So how about if we plan an Airstream Carnival of sorts for one of the afternoon/evenings
(games, entertainment, refreshments TBA, provided by whoever wishes to or has the stuff to offer).
There was a suggestion of an Alice in Wonderland type theme with flamingo mallet croquet.
Sounds perfect. (I mean really, who wouldn't want to Futterwacken?)
Bring whatever outdoor games you have lying around.

Then another night, the traditional potluck...bring whatever you want.
We can make and put up signs when we get there.
I'll bring some signage materials.

What else? Geological Ramblings as an official event? Tutu Tuesday?
Trailer Trash Talk and Chips? Bloody Mary Pajama Brunch?
Pimp Your Lounge Chair and Nap Off?
Anyone?

I have a dozen plastic hedgehogs in the Tin Pickle and a dozen pink flamingos on order. Anyone who wants to add to that number, the more, the merrier.

I think I'll also dust off the Humpty Dumpty costume for the croquet game, and Bart has a Mad Hatter hat. Any further additions to ambiance are welcome.

Perry - one of the theme camp applications had our croquet game as 5 pm on Thursday. Has that been submitted to the what/when/where booklet? Pardon my cluelessness and minimal involvement in that process and thank you for all you've done.

A Big Feed the Artists Thank You!

Dear Friends,

Thank you so much for your support. Feed the Artists Kickstarter fund raising campaign, Rites of Cabbage: Feed the Artists at Burning Man 2011 by Feed the Artists — Kickstarter has been funded with 38 hours left. If you are still considering supporting us with either a financial pledge or inviting artists to dinner please do so. It's not too late. No pledge or gesture is too small. Your generosity of spirit will be appreciated by so many.

Please stop by and visit us on the Playa. We'll be at Feed the Artists at 5:00 and A during Pre Burn Week and will be at BurnStream Court at 8:15 and Hajj, or thereabouts, Burn Week. We'll also be working the 9:00pm to midnight shift at Dust City Diner on Tuesday, August 30th. We'd love to see you!

Thank you once again!

My bad, I didn't get it in. There was a blurb about getting stuff to the what/when/where book by June 19 or so, we didn't get our placement notice until mid July and whatever else happened in June, I didn't get our camp listed in it. We're a bit away from the 3:00 keyhole I would have put in for our addy though.
I gotta rent the Allison in Wonderland movie, it was on a few times on my TV but I didn't seem to catch the croquet game.
Remembering a little, I think my mom made croquettes when we were little, not sure I appreciated them much for a hamburger.
Bill and Anne, I need your email address! Everybody, get your stamps in the A/S for CollaBill's Phony Post Office corner, Some one should volunteer to be the runner to the Black Rock City, Nevada 89412 post office by center camp.

I plan on bringing some flamingos for a flamingo ring toss. What will everyone else contribute to the games? Post your ideas. So I think.... Monday Trailer trash talk/happy hour. Tutu Tuesday, Wed potluck then the Geologists talk. Thurs Mad Hatter Croquet and games. Fri/Sat on your own. Sunday bloody mary pajama brunch pot luck style? What do you all think? Let's make a decision. Looking forward to partying with you all!!!

Any chance we can make the Thursday croquet game a daylight thing? I have friends who need perimeter security for a CORE burn that evening/night and I'd love to help them out.

That all sounds good Julie. Let's jot that schedule down.

And Barbie, we can plan our croquet/carnival however it works best so,
sure, daylight might be best anyway for outdoor games.
We might actually be able to see what we're doing.

We should have a casual planning meeting during Trailer Trash Talk Happy Hour on Monday.
Although I hate to use the word "meeting" too much while on playa.
Maybe just a Happy Hour chat about the week ahead...

Take your **** home

Hi

I have been designated by the Archbishops and Land Use Application Reviewers of the Playa Cockroach the Leave No Trace priest for Airstreameri and Geologi.

I want to remind you that our covenant with the Lord of the Playa requires that we will take back to the real world all of the stuff we bring to the Playa plus whatever MOOP passes our way. We make ourselves holy by being responsible for the consequences of what we do, no matter how stoned we were when we did it.

May the Lord of the Playa bless you and keep you.

Charly & Susie
