I can bring an easy up canopy.

I need help with my rock costume tho. Rock star? Peeble beach? Dune creature? a diamond?
Instead of soap on a rope how about a rock on a rope? LOL Summer

Burning to get there?

Burnstream Court has lost one rig in route to BRC and several other close calls plus tire problems so I'm posting this for some of you less experienced Airstreamers!

Keep the rubber-side-down,

We've run into problems with larger camps where showers had to stop on Friday because of water accumulation in the evap pond... the solution to this was pumping the water w/ a small 12v bilge pump over a greenhouse cloth covering... we went from evaporating a few gallons/day to easily evaporating 50 gallons in an afternoon....

We'll bring a pump & evap structure...

- Bart

For those coming from the east, I encourage you to take US 50 instead of the Interstate. See travelog here. (Yay, the Sovereign is in place in Reno and just waiting for occupants!)

Who has a sound system?? This was the one thing our camp lacked in 08.
Perry- how many lectures are you scheduled for?
VERY excited to see everyone-the cound down is on!-Summer

I have a small two speaker PA/sound system with a couple of decent mics, if you like.

I'm not very organized lecturating, but I hope to ramble abit about the playa dust. With lots of help from some experts. Got some seeds planted in some dust to check "germination," doesn't look promising. Oh, maybe water! would help.
Hey Summer, it will be nice to see that sign again.

Ok, soon we'll have to have a plan or schedule or wassup?
copy and paste from last year, done:
Kazoo band practice at 11......30pm, don't forget your drum(s).
Everybody bring their scoring flash cards. or is it flasher scoring cards.
A little burn barrel might be nice if someone is deciding to bring one or not. Or a covered barb-e. (No, we're not camping next to Barbi Death camp)
Monday cocktails, Sunset seremoany
Tuesday cocktails
Potluck Wednesday 6ish, late comers bring desserts.
Artery tour Thursday?
Friday, we'll be there (you know, we could volunteer to help at the after CT ride party)
Saturday, the Man
Sunday, the Temple

ok, plannings done
oh yeah, geo talks somewhere in there, maybe Wed after potluck and Thursday. or whenever we can find someone in a talking mood. And airstreameri talks.

I wonder if we could coerce Artstream into designing a Tee Shirt or silk screen for our little dysfunctional group? Welcome to CampStream, unique Airstream Tee Shirts and Art (shameless advertising, I know)

Requested Community Equipment

Hi AS Burners,

Looking forward to "the happening"...

Per the requests.... we will be bringing the following.

10x10 Canopy
3-5 Chairs
1 pick axe
1 shovel
1 table
8 rebar stakes
8-10 solar power LED lights
Hawaiian Teriyaki Chicken for potluck

If there is going to be a
community bar.... let me know of any specific volumes required to support.... beer and/or vodka and/or other.

We're newbies... let us know where to "setup"... I can help in setup too.
I have 8lb sledge hammer... do I need to use for rebar or regular 16oz hammer OK??

Thanks... Ted

Like the "schedule"...flexible is good.
There is so much to see and do...it's a big playa out there!

Nice designs Richard.

I use tent stakes and a hammer to hold down smaller items like mats and decor.
Rebar is hard to get in and especially hard to get out but may be needed depending on your canopy. The wind is intense!

Not sure if there is an "official" bar. (Anyone?)
People often spontaneously offer cocktail creations as they feel inspired.

We might need, but not everybody needs to bring: A fence post driver, should be modified to drive rebar to close to the ground. 16 oz hammer don't too much but draws ouches and blood on rebar.
A fence post puller with chain that will grab rebar; highlift jack works, I've seen what looks like old time wagon jack work. (These will make a big hit with other camps too)
A ladder to get on top of streams and things, I hope to do something better with my El wire this year.
Won't necessarily need the pickax that I can think of.
Battery powered drill with chucks and hex heads for installing and uninstalling lots of those annoying bolt screws on canopies. (I'm thinking of a neighboring canopy that we might help put up, she also likes Grey Goose I believe)(Her other half makes a mean dirty martini too.)
A bit of a burn barrel, but remember every thing we put into it, we gotta take outta the playa.
OH, I'VE COMMITTED EVERY CAMP TO HAVE A MOOP BUCKET OUTSIDE AT THE READY, ITS IN OUR APP.) And we're going to attempt to chase every bit of flying moop that goes by our camp. (Butterfly nets anyone? for the flying moop i mean.) (You should really read our app, but I think that's classified circle file now.)
Don't turn around and go back home if you forgot to load one, we'll probably have lots now.

Dont' forget to bring bunny ears to wear on the day of the bunny parade (I found some on ebay that light up), or carrot attire if you wish to protest-And a tutu for Tutu Tuesday if you have one.
Perry please add to our schedule a "Ballet Bar" on Tuesday - I will host a 'real' ballet bar but enhanse it with shots from the bar-beginners or expirenced welcome- a little liquer does wonders for streatching those muscles!
Also a note for the virgins besure to bring something you can wear to make you glow at night, when you are walking around it helps other people not run into you.
Summer

We are thinking of something sweet for the potluck, a 72 x 30 table & some chairs. An evap pond, and a roll of fake grass. We should be there Tuesday afternoon.
I won't bring the "mobile" shade structure that waived over us two years ago. Any thoughts on how much shade is needed

For the virgins, a note from home by jackrabbit speaks if you're not already on the list: Burning Man: Black Rock City Year Round: Jack Rabbit Speaks & Email Lists [BManUpdate] V14:#26:07.27.10 BIKES
And we highly reccommend reading the Survival Guide, we all should see what new stuff they hid in there. Burning Man: Preparation

Interactive map and theme camp locations

This map is pretty cool. Not all theme camps are on it yet. According to the info Thunderdome directly out 3 on the Esplanade.
