almost....hit the button....its submitted, as Airstreameri & Geologists. They wouldn't take Dysfuntionally Disorganized Geologists and Airstreamerieri, too many letters.
So we might know something by
"July" Thanks so much Zep for that beautiful map. My pencil scratching wouldn't send through the screen.
Now back to your regularly scheduled world. Snowing here this evening, the playa should be good and hard, we've had a lot of snow and rain this winter.
Perry

Ok, playa rules: Everybody fight fight fight now: fightings over, now lets have some real aluminateri fun! Nobody is allowed to work too hard, But I committed everybody to MOOP detail, and the last one out does final sweep and leave my Nevada dust.
Anybody know where we could find a keg of rum? half keg? quarter keg? piece of ate?

oh golly, i got to type that stuff again...ha, copy and paste an older version:
Interactivity: 20). Interactivity Description: A few geologists will give an informal interactive talk about local, regional, Nevada geology, and other topics. This talk may be an early evening get together, not to conflict with other established geology presentations. The talks may include and cover Black Rock playa dust, regional mineral resources, and historical geology of the area. Or they may have other unrelated topics.
20) Airstream side: Talks may include discussion of polishing aluminum, care and feeding of Airstream trailers, proper care and feeding of aluminitus sufferers. Rum application recommended.

21). Project features: Project features will probably be a circle of chairs, with probably a drawing board of some type.
22). Project interactivity: Interactivity will mostly include audience asking questions, which may not, or may be answered if the talkee knows a plausible answer. From the list: Education Based, Entertaining, Heckling, Lectures, Spoken Word, Primarily evening Time.
So mostly, informal armwaving discussions and whatnot.

Seems to work best for the first arrivers to leave a center gathering space open
and then just fill in around it as people arrive.

Assigning spaces gets too complicated.

Perry, keep us posted about the details.

theres some images of some of our tutu tuesday's I'd rather not see; mike, tim, but I think that'd be great, Thanks Summer.
I'm envisioning a board in the camp announcing our "upcoming attractions". I'm hoping Gary Fechko will do a talk about his 5 week trip he put together and just got back from on ancient Archeology, pre Aztec pyramids in the central Americas. Gary, come on down.

Gotta mention something about synconisitry, if it hadn't rained and shut down the roofers on Tuesday and Wed, and if Zep hadn't seen the thread and got me the drawing while I was sampling concrete yesterday, I wouldn't have gotten that thing submitted. Deadline for submitting was today. 13 hours on the roof inspection today and they were still working when I left at 7 tonight. Thanks everybody!
And g'nite, roofers at 6:30

Hey Monte, did you notice the gold 'stream parked across the street from your camp last year? I wondered if that was one of those historic gold Wally airstreams.
Sorry I didn't get over to your camp much last year, I was having way too much fun!

Might be the maiden voyage!

Oh my, oh my. This looks like an utter and complete blast. Could it be that I fulfill two wishes in one year? Acquire an Airstream and attend Burning Man? Methinks I have much work to do. Thanks to you all for the inspiration!

Llano, welcome! and don't worry too much about bringing too much or too little, most of us find we don't eat half of what we bring or can use half of the stuff we bring. It is a very dry planet though, and we take out everything we bring in.

Here's a snip of an automatic email I got from Placement:
"**Thank You:
Our deadline for Theme Camp questionnaires has come and gone. The cut- off date this year was 4/29/2010. First of all let us thank you for
meeting our deadline, and putting forth the efforts that you do to
make a theme camp happen at Burning Man. It is our intention to
announce directly to each camp if they will be placed this year by the
early part of July. Hopefully this schedule will help those camps
that need additional planning needs, as it is a full month earlier
than what we have done in the past
."

...So plan on, I suspect we'll know middle of Junish.

You Can Do It!

Llano,

You can do it! We purchased Sweetpea, our first Airstream, a 1974 Tradewind, two weeks before Burning Man 2006. (Our avatar image was taken in Oregon, 13 days before we arrived at Black Rock City.) We showed up on the playa only knowing that we had new tires and AIR CONDITIONING! We were set! That is until we had to dump the holding tanks-we had to get in line twice since it took us so long the first time to figure things out. We wish we had a video. We're sure it would be hilarious NOW!

We hope you make it out to the playa. The Airstream will be a welcome respite from what may be happening all around you.

Happy and safe journeys,
