There is no such thing as a question that is too dense.

2010 Art Theme: Metropolis

Great cities are organic, spontaneous, heterogeneous, and untidy hubs of social interaction. At Burning Man 2010, we will inspect the daily course of city life and the future prospect of civilization.....The Burning Man Project :: Welcome Home

Heading out tomorrow to pre-position the Sovereign in Reno. Shade structure is loaded. Oops, gotta remember the ice box. See you all there.

Talking Well this was totally unexpected....

Hey folks,
I was perusing the forums looking for the dimensions of the blackwater tank in the 81 Excella turbo diesel my father just passed on to me. Yep, would be nice to replace it before heading to the Playa this year.

Anyway - I find you guys and a happy chill shoots up my spine. Nice to see burners are everywhere.

I won't be able to join your camp this year but will be camped in IllVille which is really close to your placement. I'm heading for the Playa on the 11th and from then until the 27th or 28th will be parked out at the Temple build site. If you have an early arrival pass swing by and say 'Hi." If you feel like it we can put you to work on the Temple. Our plan this year is to have it done by the start of the festival. Oh, and stick around if you can for the Temple Burn - I'm the guy burning it down this year and promise some things never seen at a temple burn before....

Seeya out there,
-don

Hi dlcain, Welcome to the forums!
This is a great group of burnstreamers, but not the only one. There are usually at least two groups, plus miscellaneous burnstreamers peppered throught, for added flavor. I camp with the Tuna Guys. Stop by for a little sashimi. It's truly "The Best of the Playa"

See ya there!

Hey, we used to know the Tuna Camp folks way back when. Hosted a dinner at our camp one year. Liquid Diet Lounge, Dept. Spontaneous Combustion, Kiki and Karl of Warp 11 were all part of our collective back then... Be nice to re-connect.....

Cheers,
-don

The Tuna Guys are a special group of folks. I've camped with them for two years now, I'm welcomed like family each time, and they even save me a space, and get me early entry, but they won't tell me where the camp is! The first year I was brokedown in Gerlach and the tunaboat (art car) captain came and found me! Last year I had to wait for them in D lot, as they had my early entry ticket in camp already, and they sent a tuna guy out to find me again. This year I already know the routine, so I'm not going to sweat it. I just have to go in the general direction of Black Rock City, and I will get home!
Life's a beach, have a ball!

Yup - he's welding it up in the driveway! I still need to get RoboShaw tuned up for this year. I just finished repairing the floor in the Tin Pickle's bathroom & fixing some rear end separation...

Our trailer will be pretty minimalist this year, but we're all looking forward to sleeping out of the dust.

- Bart

OK Burners, Perry has done his part by securing us a primo location for this year’s burn.

It’s now our turn to make sure this hard won space is used to its FULL ENJOYMENT !

In order to make our stay on the Playa more enjoyable, we need group shade structures, who’s got-um and who’s bringing-um, stakes (the rebar kind) rope, extra chairs (for drop in’s and out’s)

Tables

Evaporation pond anyone?

A Sound system for soothing geological music. (yeah right )

Pack animals

Mine shafts

Pike axes

Sluice boxes
Dynamite
10 stamp mill

Come’on seasoned burners, you know what it take to pull off a week of dust, wind, sun and sin….

Rookies, get on board.

How bout signage for our theme camp, volunteer’s

The placement team which issued us this great location will be checking to see if we are using this sacred spot as advertised, if not, next year we get kicked to the back (like 2009)

Swishes,

The Great Humongous

Remember: RESPECT, RETHINK, PRECYCLE, REDUCE, REUSE, RECYLE and RESTORE! DON'T LET IT HIT THE GROUND - CLEAN AS YOU GO!
