I'm not using the Airstream facilities, except for dust storms or illnesses. The port-a-potties are fine for that. We would probably fill it before the week was out anyway.
For showering, I'm thinking of setting up an outdoor shower just behind the Safari and an evaporation pan for disposal. My showerhead is on a flexible metal hose that will reach out the open back window. A 3' x 3' shower tent, four 2 x 4's, and some plastic is all it takes.
I considered just using the Airstream shower and putting an evap pan under the grey water outlet, but the chances are someone would not like to see that setup, and I don't want to bring the "LAW" down on myself.

Pack your moop!
Rich

Peaches, I doubt you and I combined could even put a dent in the supply of tequila that will be on hand. We will be arriving at the Desert Rose Saturday afternoon and plan to regroup there after the burn. Are you still considering going to Vegas with us for a few days?

I really wasn't worried about the number of post on the thread I just wanted to stir things up!

Now as to showers. An outside shower sounds good. No sense filling up the stream any more than required. If the Human Carcass Wash wasn't so far away I would stop by there every couple of days. It's a "car wash" for people and looked like it would workout just fine. You can even put limits on just how much of the "undercarraige" they wash!

Hey C and C,
I'll see you at the Desert Rose!!
Desert Rose

Vegas sounds good, Circus circus or the Oasis maybe, or ??

I'll find a percussion instrument to play along with Claudia. Everyone _ Bring an instrument!!

Grey water - I used an evap pan ( 10 x 8 poly sheet ) under my unit last year and let the grey water drip into it ( very slow). It was out of sight and keep up with a daily shower or two. I'll bring the water fire extinguisher again for those " I need a shower now !" moments or as a gift offering to a needy, dirty soul.

We stayed at the KOA at Circus last year. Big laundry facility, on the strip and relatively inexpensive. Admittedly there is a period of adaptation requied. All that expanse of concrete after all that expanse of the playa. But, only the dust you bring with you .

Haven't tried the Oasis. Have you?

We don't have to decide for a while. The KOA had lots of open spaces when we were ther last year.

Hey all, so I am sure as each day passes your anticipation for the "Burn" is building! We are dealing with the loss of not going this year and to cope with their loss, our 2 tickets have found their way back to the Playa. Someone else is now going to enjoy their experience in our place. Hope everyone is doing great!! Maybe see you next year! Deborah and Allen (Burners till death)

Allen, sorry you can not join our camp this year.

I do keep your most excellent token from 2008 and will miss your 2009 offerings. Stay well and see you in 2010!

I am so jonesing for BM, any news would be welcome.

For those of us who didn't make it last year, anything we need to know about this year?

Where do we plan on setting up? Where to meet up? All that good kind of stuff.

TIA!

Hey Mitch,

Well, as I put it to the group back in January, registering as a "Theme Camp" has the advantage of "Advance placement" Theme camps require work and planning from the group. By not registering as a theme camp, we as a group, have no advance placement and don't know where we are on the playa in advance.

The group here decided not to be a theme camp, not that that's bad.

As soon as the Burning Man city map is issued, we will agree on a place to meet and work from there. It worked last year with a little help from our friends, but this year we are on our own.

Sign up for notifications on this thread, and you will be notified of any new activity.

Bigger n' better

FYI - Kim and I sold our 19' Bambi and bought a 25' Excella It's not a whole lot bigger but it will require a little more valuable playa real estate. Plan to be there the whole time this year and we're looking forward to seeing everyone!

So, bigger is better. Congrats! Now you can take in guests LOL.

Mitch - At least 2 of us are meeting at the Desert Rose RV Park in Fenley on sat or sun and probably decompress there as well.

Where are all the new faces? I expected to see alot more interest! Com on people, it is better than you can imagine.

I guess we already have all of the adventurous folks rounded up here! I have tried to invite a few people who I thought might be interested in going, and no takers at all. I had a hard time selling an extra ticket, even.
I think the locals don't know what they have been missing, but I met people last year from South Africa, Ireland, China, Vietnam, Australia, Canada, Central America, Brazil, etc, etc. So, The word is getting out, just not here?
