Signing up again!
We are on the road in LA and TX. Having some issues with signing up with the iPhone but will keep trying. We will be there. Wouldn't want to miss the party.

Just signed up. Real sorry i bailed at the last minute last year but stuff happens. Got a new awning for the Silver Streak MH ("Twinkle") and am now looking to install a new generator. Should have Twinkle in top mechanical shape for the burn. And i really need some burn time this year. Burnstream in '07 was fun, but i'd like to hang with youse guys this year.

Everybody have their tickets? Sunscreen? Dust masks?
Thinking about shade, shelters, glow, sand tires for your bike?
Just checking in...

Tickets in hand. Working on getting one or two solar panels to spell the generators. I heard they had more moisture this winter so here's hoping for more hardpack and less dust. Looking forward to the ordeal.

DMV has been processing Mutant vehicle apps online. BM hq had their open house BBQ a couple weeks ago. The BRC int airport is getting a new portal structure this year. We're on the down ward slide to BM09 now! "Evolution" this year, what do we do with that?

A lot of our rv classifieds around here in July and Aug will have a note "Burningman Special", but those are Cadillacs!

Thread Activity?
I was there, so I know better! But, did things go so smoothly last year that we just aren't that UP for BM 2009?
The activity on this thread is a bit off the numbers from last year. By about a three to one margin. I guess I'm just going to have to drink all the tequila myself!

I hope I attached the correct pic and not one of ArtStream in the buff

No, the heavy planning was done last year and seemed to work, so it's a cruise for ARTSTREAM this year.

Planning?
Last year was my first Burn, so I was concerned about bringing the proper things for an event I could hardly imagine. I asked my great friend Cap'n Rick what I should bring with me to the event, him being an experienced Burner and all.
He said "bring a pirate outfit and a clown outfit"
I said "is that all ?"
"Yea, and maybe some water"
What a blast! I can't wait to meet everyone and see all the dusty aluminum.
Skoal!

Another thought, why not "fix" a way to flush your toilet with the used grey water? I might have to get busy devising a few valves and a pump.

Silver- you could keep it simple and bring a bucket to carry from the dump valve to the toilet.

I'm not using the Airstream facilities, except for dust storms or illnesses. The port-a-potties are fine for that. We would probably fill it before the week was out anyway.
For showering, I'm thinking of setting up an outdoor shower just behind the Safari and an evaporation pan for disposal. My showerhead is on a flexible metal hose that will reach out the open back window. A 3' x 3' shower tent, four 2 x 4's, and some plastic is all it takes.
I considered just using the Airstream shower and putting an evap pan under the grey water outlet, but the chances are someone would not like to see that setup, and I don't want to bring the "LAW" down on myself.
Pack your moop!

Peaches, I doubt you and I combined could even put a dent in the supply of tequila that will be on hand. We will be arriving at the Desert Rose Saturday afternoon and plan to regroup there after the burn. Are you still considering going to Vegas with us for a few days?
I really wasn't worried about the number of post on the thread I just wanted to stir things up!
Now as to showers. An outside shower sounds good. No sense filling up the stream any more than required. If the Human Carcass Wash wasn't so far away I would stop by there every couple of days. It's a "car wash" for people and looked like it would workout just fine. You can even put limits on just how much of the "undercarraige" they wash!
