I've camped with Tuna Guys @ BM. They rock, great group. Darrell and his barbie doll collection and flame boxer shorts, doesn't get better than that! Sushi on the Playa is a real treat.

Oh no Dogs! I burned nearly ten years and always left the furbabies at home. Not an enviroment for them at all. Besides who would want the responsibilty of pooches when the party never stops.

Viking~ Hell yes, the Tuna boat is the only way to do an ice run! Cruise up to the back door, score ice and float home!

No damage to the Airstream. I just wash mine in the usual way when I get home.
I take out all the extra stuff and cover the upholstery. And put some mats on the floor to absorb foot dust. That's about it.

And yes no grey water or anything else can hit the playa. If you want a shower you must bring one though some people have outdoor showers that they will let others use. No water is available there so you must bring all that you need for drinking and washing.

No trash cans so you must pack out everything you bring in including garbage.

Thanks for the replies. I can deal with the dust. The trailer can be cleaned after the event. As for evaporation the grey, I'll study that a while longer. I do understand the pack it "in" and "out" rules.
Another thought, why not "fix" a way to flush your toilet with the used grey water? I might have to get busy devising a few valves and a pump.

Theme Camp?

My preference for our 2nd annual Burning Man rally would be to follow the same model we had last year, i.e., not a theme camp. To qualify as a theme camp takes a lot of organization and administrative and creative support. We could rally again in the same manner. If individual burners wanted to create "activities" for the group and random passers-by they could. A list of informal activities could be posted on a sign up list on the rally thread that ARTSTREAM should be posting today. Comments?

I agree with Mark. Seems like a theme camp is a lot of effort. Lets just go and camp together and have fun.

Yep.
That's my preference too.
It worked well last year.

Here we go again. There's no place like home!

Hey Richard. Save us a spot next to you again.

Claudia says she will bring the hammered dulcimer and give free lessons. We are planning a swing through Las Vegas and the Winfield Kansas Music Festival after the Burn.

Let's keep it simple. Last years improv was too much fun. We can't wait to repeat.

Hey C&C ! Great pic of you guys! I'm bringing the Tradewind this year and would look forward to being next to you guys again ( Just don't rent out your chairs again LOL) . Hopefully, Dani and Red will be on my other side LOL. I'm voting for an unoffical theme camp, sugar cookies , bar b q twinkes, music lessons, buckets of curry etc, we can change up daily. Pot luck dinners were great and hope we can do more of them.
I'd like to caravan down to Vegas with you guys ( from BM to Vegas, wow, what a change of lifestyle) as I will be full timing then.
Meeting at the Desert Rose before and after worked out perfect, something to keep in mind for this year. Or, Mark, I'm available and willing to go in early to help set up.

Thanks, wasn't so sure you would recognize Corky!

Meeting at the Desert Rose is what we had in mind, we plan to get there late afternoon Saturday the 29th. Plus we plan to regroup there after the burn. It takes a day to get to LV, assuming you don't spend too much time at the brothels on the way.

We will probably be in Vegas for four days leaving on Sunday the 13th. You are more than welcome to tag along. That would be a hoot! Surely we can create some havoc in sin city.

We may stay for the temple burn this year.

We won't be full timing but we are going to be out over a month or so. Don't try to make us jealous already!

Corky and Claudia

PS the chairs are staying home, Claudia doesn't like the competition!

Where's the Desert Rose?

I may be coming from Bend instead of Colorado, so it may not make sense for me.

Vegas sounds great as long as Corky doesn't wear that outfit LOL

Zep - Desert Rose RV Park is in Fernley, NV. Great place with huge private bathrooms! Large pull thrus, full hook ups and a helpful staff. Reasonably priced. Burner friendly, just don't fill their dumpsters with your trash from BM. It is near Wally world, shopping centers and the town of Fernley, making it conveinent for stocking up and getting last minute supplies ( batteries, flashlights etc) To Black Rock Canyon, BM, I think it took an hour and a half caravaning. Desert Rose

But, "what is Burning man", Trying to explain what Burning Man is to someone who has never been to the event is a bit like trying to explain what RED looks like to the blind.

Your best bet will be to visit the Burning Man web site at:

BURNING MAN

This event is not for everyone
Experienced forum burners please chime in.
