osolow...one thing to understand...this is not a fight, just fun...most if not all of us on this thread are good friends and love to rib each other..did I just say rib?? Can you bar-b-q them???
I will say right now that I will not be bar-b-qing anything myself...as I did not make chili last year...that way I could be a judge and along with Michael and Nell, we were able to try ALL the chili that was prepared!
It was great fun!
It does not matter to me the rules of the cook-off...we just need to agree on some (or none) that is up to you guys.
Some of us are just novice cooks and don't have the purist hearts as other might!
after being in 2air's kitchen last year while he was preparing his chili explosion, I am not sure that I want to know what goes into the Bar-B-Q...he told me those things in the pan were peppers...I think it was more like heated T-N-T...some kind of nuclear waste...so I really would rather not know what you use!
sound like a good idea to cook before hand i have to make some time to do so.
rassing your buddy's on here is all good it just hard to inturprite peoples attuded when your reading, but it good to know everyone on here are good enough friends that you can give them a hard time with out getting some one angry
alright see everybody this april
? how is the cook off going to work in general
are we all just showing up with a plate of food for the judges or do we make enough so that everyone get's a taste?
6 PM was when the dinner gathering began. Everyone showed up with their chili or other side dishes. After entries arrive at 6PM, we will assign random numbers to the entries, and take them to the Judges. While the judges are doing their thing, everyone else will be eating. Then after everyone is done eating we have the awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. After awards, we usually draw door prizes from a hat.
Steve
People not interested in joining the cook-off are still welcome for the dinner gathering to eat the cook-off BBQ. Most bring left overs from the previous nights pot luck.
osolow...I will add this...you are going to have a blast!
This is one of the best group of people that I have ever been around all joking aside.
We really do enjoy each other's company...we will camp together...break bread together...play music and sing together...sit around the fire together...and just flat out have a blast together!
It really is just a laid back really good time...not very structured other than meals and trailer tours...
Some of us sat by the fire and watched my Razorbacks get beat by Auburn last year on this big ole TV I brought.
We had a guitar and drums and other assorted musical intruments and we all just sat around and sang all night.

G,
We won't have Artstream or Jaxon at this Spring Rally. In the case I am not stuck at Arkansas Recruiting school we will be the only musicians. Let's get a set of songs that we want to play this time in advance. I will get acquinted with playing them before hand.
Sounds good Steverino...I will email you the lyrics and chords when we get it all together...let me know if you have any favorites.
Hey we could take request at this stage and then just put everybody's together...of course...they may have to do the singing if we don't know the tune!
This will all be Friday night in the case the Antsy show goes through. Compton ridge is still waiting on sponsorship from the chamber of commerce for support.
1 ounces Whiskey
1 ounce Honey ounce Lemon Juice
3 ounces Water (Hot)
If you have a microwave, the easiest way to make this drink is to warm the honey and lemon juice for about half a minute and then to add hot water and the whiskey. Otherwise, we recommend that you stir the honey and lemon juice into extremely warm water, allow it to cool slightly, and add the whiskey.
