We made it home ok with no incidents, took the back route and enjoyed all the fall colors starting to show up. Stopped at campground 3 at Roaring River for a bathroom stop, and there were two Airstreams there, a newer Bambi with Missouri plates, no tv, and a Nice Classic 30-sh ' long with Arkansas plates and a red Dodge Ram pickup. Nobody around. Probably fishing!

We've been home since 3:30 or so. Easy trip with no surprises. Unpacking I could not find my glasses and really do not remember taking them back to the trailer from the bathroom. Called Compton Ridge and they were very helpful and immediately went to look for them. Meanwhile I found them in the trailer and called them to stop their search. We were very pleased with them and plan to go back.

Michael says to let everyone know the old spotted dog made it home late with no problems. Thanks to everyone, we had a great time at our first rally. Thanks to Steve, Amy, and Collin for all the hard work. Anxious to see everyone in April. Michael and Debbie

Just wanted to tell everyone thanks so much for the hospitality, Yall were wonderful !!! Especially Steve and Amy, they treated us like old friends. This was our first rally of any kind, we are spoiled now. Can't wait till the next one.
We are going to leave the campground this AM, and it is pouring down rain, Steve told me I should have hitched one yesterday! Take Care and God Bless.

Glad to see Michael, Debbie, and Spot made it home alright. It was great seeing all your work on the trailer.
Craig....I told ya'll to hitch up yesterday because of rain. Funny thing was we didn't hit one drop of moisture on the way home yesterday. Stay safe on that long ride back to God's country.

While on the subject of the next rally, it will likely be the last one that we will be able to attend for anything more than two days. Collin starts school next year, and the districts here are unforgiving about pulling kids out of school unless there is a better reason than a rally.

We made it home at 3:30pm (Tuesday)(6 1/2 hours). Rained all the way to the west of Tulsa, OK. Was dry in OKC our rain gauge at home said we got 1 3/4" of rain. We go today and pick up the horse from the vet $$$$$$$. Had to leave her at the vet all week as there was no one to doctor her ear.
We had a great time and the food was wonderful again. Hope to see everyone at the Spring Branson Rally 2010. Will this be the 3rd or 4th year for the spring rally?
Did (Craig & Debbie) the Houston, TX group make it home yet?

Well! .... thank you for asking! Its very simple to make ... first you bake your sweet potatoes in the oven. 350-400 about an hour ... I just stab them with a fork to see if they are done. Take them out and let the potatoes cool down. Break them open and spoon out potato into a pot ... add butter, honey, salt and a SMALL dash of cayenne pepper. (You don't want to taste the pepper ... it is just to bring out the other flavors). An example of proportions: 4 large sweets, 1 stick of butter, 3-4 oz. honey, 1 "shy" teaspoon sea salt, and 1/8-1/4 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper. This will fill a 2.5 Qt. pot 4/5 of the way. This is a potluck-large family gathering sized side ...
Once everything is in the pot you just warm & blend ... I have a spring steel masher/whisk thingie that I use to um, mash & whisk. Remember, everything is all ready cooked and you are just warming it back up and melting the butter.

Aniother sweet potato recipe, (vegan, Bob)
Sweet potato hash:
Shredded sweet potatos, apple, golden raisins, walnuts sauteed in a bit of EVOO until tender, add maple syrup, cinnamon and nutmeg to taste. Voile, a simple fall lunch.

Carl, glad to hear Linda made it home safe. We quilters always love getting out quilt fix going shopping for MORE fabric. Thanks for the Dr. advice on the aspirins.
Steve, I have had tinnitus since I was a child, sure don't need it magnified.
Steve you and Amy really take on a lot to make everyone have a good time. We really appreciate all the work you do so we can have a great rally.
Rest up everyone and hope to see some of you at the Vintage Texas rally in February.
