Home to Minnesota

The trip home was uneventful. Had a strong tail wind which helped the mileage. Left at 8:30 a.m. and arrived home at 7:30 p.m. Will be heading for Arizona after the first of the year. Will plan on catching the spring fling on the return to Minnesota.

We made it home at 5:30pm. We had planned to get gas at the last station on the turnpike. To our dismay we had forgotten they closed that station. Our truck was almost on empty and James kept saying we aren't going to make it to Oklahoma City. I just crossed my fingers. We made it with 10 miles to spare??? His truck is a 25gal we put in 25.2 gal of gas. Now that is close. I drove half way home and that side wind sure was tough to work. The only time I have driven the pickup was, test driving before we bought it. So I was learning to drive James's pickup and pull the trailer all at one time. His seat was to low couldn't get the darn thing to go up higher. Next time I will set on a pillow.

James and I had a great time and it was to short, wish we have came down a day earlier. My sister and her husband enjoyed meeting everyone. You all are a great bunch of people, glad to make friends with all of you. It was fun and can't wait to see everyone again. We are looking at attending the Texas Rally in Feb.

Steve and Amy, thank you so much for all your hard work. I love my hummingbird feeder I won. Next summer James the hummingbirds happy.

Steve, I think Jim is coming to our house today between 4-6pm to pick up your 1953 frig. He is so excited about getting it from you.

Steve sorry about the traffic going home.

It was so good to meet you folks. You made good time getting home although long I'm sure. Thank you again for letting Tia use your ball. I guess you actually let her have the ball after she hid it and we couldn't find it.
We still haven't found it. ....Hey...wait a minute....it's probably in her crate! I didn't look there.

We departed Stagecoach mid-morning on Sunday. Headed NORTH toward Springfield and then westbound to Neosho, thinking we might take 71 in Arkansas southbound to Loosiana. Plans changed tho and we decided to drive over to Oklahoma on our way back. Drove down 59 the entire length (north to south) thru OK. Spent Sunday night in Brushy Lake SP, very pretty, very quiet. Monday we continued south on 59 across the Red River to I-30 eastbound to Texarkana, then south through Shreveport and finally to Natchitoches.

We had a lot of fun in Branson, especially enjoyed connecting names and faces from the forum. Pat is out looking for pink flamingo decorations even as I type. I have a speaking engagement in Arizona next month and we might drive over and take that big 17 foot Safari Sport.

WOW! Sounds like you did the right thing taking the scenic route and taking your time getting home. Usually we are in a hurry to get home and miss the beauty of getting there. Let that be my lesson. "Not only is the destination to be enjoyed but the journey as well!"

What was the diagnosis and suggested fix???

Did you use the bubbles to create the "party atmosphere"?

Cool good weekend

I hate comeing home from a good relaxing weekend and haveing to go straight back to work. shoot i been trying to get back on here for two days.
Steve sorry to hear you and your family had a long trip home. it was also good to know every one made it home in good shap.

My tow home was good exept for a close call trying to exit off HWY 65 on to James river frwy. some guy in a black chevy did not yield when comeing on to 65 as i was exiting and about took out my the A/S from the bath back. he locked up the bracks pretty good when he figured out i was not going to stop exiting. i couldnt see his eyes but i bet they were big and I am sure he was letting me know that A/S were number one.
from what i remember when i saw him speeding up the ramp and not trying to slow down he got really close to the back of the trailer. close enough were i stopped when i found a good spot to stop and went and looked for damage.
other then that as soon as i hit I44 it was smooth sailing all the way home.
the only other thing that i learned on my way home is that i am ether going to have to get a bigger truck or a smaller Airstream. personally i want a new truck but will see how hat gose.

I-44 and Jamesriver Freeway

The cloverleaf at I-44 and James-river Freeway "BLOWS!" It was designed back in the late 50s early 60s. Definitely not designed for this century!

There used to be one at 65 and I-44 but they just this year re-designed it. There have been many , MANY, accidents on these tur..n..s

Glad you made it home safe!
