Bosque Del Apache

We would like to thank AIRSTREAM25 and the other members of the FCU that helped motivate us to make the trip down south of Socorro NM to the Bosque Del Apache NWR. We've never seen so many migratory birds in one spot.
The sun rise's were awsome, and the weather fantastic this time of year.
Bird Watchers RV Park was a great place to come home to after a day on the refuge and the people were great.

Oh, boy, I wish we could have gone. It was timed right at the end of our trip, but it was also time for us to get home and get the equipment ready for ski season.

We have actually avoided the Festival of the Cranes, thinking that it would be too crowded and have usually gone the week prior. What was your experience?

We are at Bird Watchers RV Park and went to see the evening fly in. We are a bit early as we have not seen as many birds as in other years.

If you come, bring warm clothes and lawn chairs to watch the show. Seems like the bottom falls out of the thermometer when the sun goes down

Pictured is a pond with some ducks. Later we saw a grain field with thousands of snow geese and another with some sandhill cranes. The cranes are still arriving.

Bird Watchers RV Park charges $20/night for full hooks but be aware that they do not accept credit cards. We are surrounded by big white boxes. Where are the Airstreamers?
