With a 19 foot, think sponge bath. Water bags will come in handy also.

Appetizer Potluck on Saturday!!!

Ok everyone,

Since the group has reached a decent critical mass, I am putting together a Happy Hour Appetizer Potluck for Saturday evening. Just bring some sort of easy finger food or the like. Nothing complicated needed (unless it makes you happy), since we'll all be busy staring at and comparing our crystals.

I'll start it off:

Peter and Marie - Pulled pork sliders

I like it!

I've got:
Two large shovels, one small shovel, a breaking bar, a pick, a mallet, 3 rock chisels, 4 geological picks/hammers. I'm bringing so much because I am outfitting the friends who I've got coming along, but there will also be more than enough to rotate around the group.

To others who have never done it before: You will be surprised how much "large" digging/ breaking you might want to do. If you have large things like picks and breaking bars, they might end up being more valuable than shovels.

Kevin and Lianne - Baked Meatball Ziti Cassorole (ASwifey & Newroswell)

We are also bringing alot of fire wood and are happy to host a campfire Friday and Saturday nites (BYOB)

We have breaker bars, shovels, and a generator if that is any help to anyone.

Thanks Peter! This looks like it's gonna be a really fun rally!

We have a shovel and a .... By the way, did I tell you we gave a shovel? Not too many tools, but this sure sounds like fun.

Still not 100% sure we can make it but the odds are looking better. I may be able to take Friday off but Becky will still have to work at least a half a day on Friday. So if it all works out we may be able to hit the road by 1:00 - 2:00 in the afternoon. Now all we need to know is to know exactly where we are going.... are there detailed directions to the campground available? Not sure what we will bring to the pot luck happy hour, but I am sure alcohol will be involved. Hoping to see all of you there.

Give me until the end of the day and I'll have a document posted that is pretty thorough...

Peter...We are planning to arrive on Wednesday late afternoon and will probably be the first there. I will just find the campsite that suits us best, probably along the south loop, unless you have an area you would prefer to stay. I know there are some Cabanas in the central area, but I don't know what these are like. I am willing to try and save some spots if it is OK to do that...I know BLM is more easy-going about that than most other public campgrounds, but I'm not sure about the rules there at Wiley's Well.

Steve, we will be right behind you. The current plan is to arrive Thursday evening. Not sure we can leave any earlier yet. Looking forward to seeing you guys again (Kirk Creek & the Jade Festival 2011).
