4th annual @ Beverly Beach State Park... September 28, 29 and 30, 2007
Bashers - we’re gonna do it again and we've move the date up a couple of weeks hoping to trick the weather gremlins. This is a do it yourself rally - there are NO activities or meetings planned.
There’s loads to do in the area including one of the best Aquariums in the country or you can entertain yourselves with fun stuff to do in Newport: Beach combing, shopping, whale watching tours, light house gawking etc....
We will (per usual) have some community meals and big fire.
Friday night: Hot dogs and brats - hold the sand!
Bring a dish to share. We’ll bring the grills and griddles. Don't forget your drink!
Saturday night: Lasagna Smackdown - cooking contest!
Make lasagna (or heat it up) in you trailer for all to enjoy. Prizes for the best traditional lasagna and best new-fangled lasagna. Those not cooking lasagna are encouraged to contribute breads, salads, drinks and desserts.
Sunday AM: Not too early breakfast.
Eggs, taters and ham. Campers are encouraged to bring juice, coffee, hot rolls and fruit.
Beverly Beach State Park is on the ocean with wooded campsites. Parking fee is $21.00 per night. All these sites are electric and water only - but there’s a nifty dump station at the park. Beverly Beach Park has several bath houses, a playground, beach front and streams. Last year we had 34 trailers at this event.
I have reserved sites on the G loop, sites 2-27 and prepaid them - so if you want one let me know - first come first served! The ones on the inside of the loop are pull-throughs. # 7 has my name on it. The park will be busy this weekend - do not expect to just show up and get a site. Last year the place was sold out - you need a reservation!.
Fair warning: It can be cold this time of year at this park - rainy as well. This is a rain or shine event. If the weather turns foul - we’ll tarp the G-loop!
Bring your instruments - we've got jammers!
Bring your camera - great views.
Bring your windbreaker - good beach-combing.

Are you going to enter the Lasagna Smack Down on Saturday? A Fungi Lasagna could be a winner. We're starting to gather the prizes now, more on the categories later.
Sign me up for potato salad on Friday evening. I've been told that it is darn good. I'll bring plenty. This will by my wife's and my first rally. We just purchased our 'project' airstream two weeks ago: a 66' Safari. We are loving it!! We have also been spending a lot of time cleaning it and fixing/replacing worn out and broken parts--par for the course I understand. I wouldn't have it any other way though. Looking forward to meeting all of you at the rally!
Aaron,
Welcome to the forums and will look forward to seeing you both at the rally. It's turning out to be quite a vintage function (trailers that is) ! You'll learn lots from folks.
Thanks for the warm reply. Yeah, I love the vintage trailers. We're really looking forward to this rally: maybe even more than our trip to Disney World next year! See ya at BB.
