One last note: Thank you to our neighbors who rescued us from our airstream on Sunday morning. My husband had been complaining that the door knob was harder to open this trip; I told him he just didn't know "the trick" (all the vintage owners know what I mean here), so I tried it. It was darn hard, but I grabbed a non-skid rug pad and twisted with all my might--- nope, it won't open. Luckily, some friendly streamers happened by after we stopped laughing and let us out. Apparently something broke inside the lock-set and we are now only able to open it from the outside.

I ordered a new one today- it was great to know we'd be rescued and not have to go through the window!

I have a question

Were we supposed to take the Flamingoes home? We did, if you need it back, please send a stamped self addressed envelope and I will use it for something else.

Enjoy some funny photos. I want to paint red numbers on the puppy's fez.

Thanks Janet and JH.

Thanks to everyone for making our first Beverly Beach Rally so memorable. We had a blast. It was fun meeting so many new people. Seeing all the trailers was fantastic. Janet and Janets Husband, you guys are incredible! You seem to pull it off so effortlessly, but we all know its alot of work. Thanks to both of you and all your helpers. Enjoyed the socials, ate way to much (never seen so much food).I cant begin to say enough about the weekend. It was a wet 9 1/2 hour drive home to Vancouver B.C. We are attempting to dry everything off but it will take awhile. We will be back next year!!!!!

Thank you Janet and Gary !!!

Again, we had a wonderful time at the bash. Janet and Gary, you set up a fantastic rally and delegated masterfully except you should have been holding the unbrella for the city planner and let him execute drainage plans We loved meeting new airstreamers and there new love and reconneting with old friends.
Let me tell all the lasanga smackdown entrants I'm still full and I will be on a salad only diet for the next week , they were all delicious All twenty bites!!!!!!!!!

See everyone next year.

Thought I would share the few pictures I did take. Not the best at it. Even out of focus you recognize the Airstream Embasy with the flags out. I was only there for a few hours but ejoyed everyone I got to meet. I did learn that my trailer dosn't have to be finished to bring it. Count me in for the next one.
Thank you Janet for a great rally!!!!

tack så mycket

Thank you so very much Janet and Gary! [this is nearly the total of the Swedish I know...]

The rally was awesome ~ even better than last year! (If that could be possible....) We had a wonderful time! Thanks to all our "old" friends and new ones as well, you all made our stay at BB GREAT!

A special thanks too to Chris for draining Lake Beverly away from our doorway in our campsite!

We are not yet home, staying tonight in Canyonville on I-5. Got a new tire today... we were lucky! That little shock of ours on the trailer that broke on the way to BB really gouged our tire! But kudos to Les Schwab tires in Florence they fixed us up in less than 30 minutes and we could safely drive on! Had a wonderful drive down the Umpqua River it is beautiful especially in the fall!

Will post a few pictures once we get home and settled... To all the great cooks out there, thank you so much! All of the food was wonderful, and my personal thanks to whoever made the lasagna with the basil and cheese [white sauce maybe?] it was one of the best I have ever had! All of the entries need to post their secret recipies, so we can enjoy them again!

Janet & Gary, thanks for the great music and friendship along with your hard work. You made it happen in great style!

Great to see everyone! Now to clean out the poor rugs from the bambi....

We love the BB Bash!

Our First Rally

We can't believe it has come and gone! And now we have to wait until next year to do it again. We had no idea that living in Salem, we were so close to this great camp ground on the coast. Even with a little rain, it was a wonderful experience. Shoutouts to Janet and Janet's husband for making us feel so at home. Like others have said about the spread, I should have pushed away from the lasagna sooner...but, I have a whole year to loose the extra lbs I found this weekend.
My 11 year old, Emma and her friend, Maggy have a new hero as well.

Turns out they were heading back from the public restrooms late Saturday night when they were, (in their words), attacked by a giant Raccoon.
Emma said it would not let them by on the path back to our trailer. Emma said she turned and ran to the tents where the festivities were still going on.
She said the only person she recognized was Janet ,so she told her about the Raccoon. Janet brought them back to the trailer safe and sound. I thought the girls were over-stating the circumstances a bit but when Emma started crying, It was obvious, they were somewhat traumatized.
Anyway, Janet I failed to thank you for everything before we left and I am especially grateful that you, amidst all else going on, found time to care for my daughter and her friend. You are the best! and we would rally with you and yours anytime!!!

Hmm... they were upset but honestly the racoons there can be huge! Last year they stole a large container of cookies off a picnic table while campcollector (the ranger) was standing next to the table. They just strutted up and latched onto the box and walked off. They have formed gangs and engage in a unique form of late night terrorism regularly So, I think the kids distress was reasonable... happy to help.

Who knew that the raccoons-of-unusual-size were real? I thought it was just a old airstreamers tale meant to keep newbies on their guard

Had I known I would have brought that big old maglight to the restroom instead of navigating in the dark.

On lasagne night (otherwise known as Saturday), Sequoiacoast, jr. and Dmroot, jr. were having lots of fun passing out Sequoiacoast's flamingo stirring sticks. I insisted on accompany-ing them back to the trailer in the dark to get stirring stick refills. Now I am glad I did...don't want the racoons to get a taste for plastic flamingos or it is all over for next year.

Thanks Janet and Gary for a great laid back rally. Thanks to all the lasanga providers.

Sequoiacoast we were your neighbors who helped with the door. Good thing you weren't boondocking in the boonies.

Jan and I had a great time at the rally meeting new friends. We are in Bandon, Oregon staying at Bullock Beach State Park, and having some pizza at a place with wifi.

Thank you Janet and Gary, for all your hard work and excellent camraderie. After choosing my best photos, I have 87 to share. I can't post them all here so I uploaded them to my Picasa site where you can view them and download. There are lots of night shots, so look for your Airstream in the mix!
