Welcome! You will have a great time at this rally! A few clues: It is very informal, and there is no set agenda other than a few community potlucks and meals...which you can join in with or not as you choose! (The food is always great, so I would suggest to join in!) No real expectations, other than be nice and common courtesy. Usually at pot lucks it is bring your own beverage, some folks will bring along drinks to share but you never know what all it will be. No intimidation here!
You will have time to see the sites with your family, or kick back at your camp spot and visit with new friends. We usually have a totally unofficial and voluntary "open house" on Saturday so folks often wander from trailer to trailer kicking tires and seeing what others have done to theirs! Not everyone participates, it is very casual.
Have you made reservations? If not contact Janet (she is a moderator) as I think she had one or two camp spots open that she reserved... they were previously taken but a couple have had to cancel.
Will look forward to meeting you and your family. Great group, you will have fun! The beach is wonderful and a great place to go. We also usually have community campfire at night after dinner. You can join in or not, it is all as you choose!
See you soon,
Mrs. NorCal Bambi (traveling in S Tardis)

Re: First Time
Hi Wayne,
This will be our 1st rally too. BB is a beautiful part of Oregon's coast (one of my favorite stretches of Oregon beach). I'm sure it will ba a fun and relaxed time. Looking forward to meeting you at the rally.

First time at an Airstream Rally
Serendipitously met Butch & Beth last weekend and was induced (conned?) to attend the Beverly Beach Bash. As first timers---just purchased our 23' AS CCD a few months ago---we are new to the AS world; not being joiners, we were eventually swayed to attend the BBB when Butch let slip that the name of the 'group' was the undergrounders. That closed the deal---so thanks to Janet and a recent cancellation, we'll be hooking-up at #G-23, for better or worse!!!
Attached is a picture of our AS and my better half, taken at the North Fork campground in Ketchum, ID.

Bob & Andree,
I bet Butch and Beth didn't tell you about the strange things that happen at an alumatube rally, with all the aluminum we attract and become very, very strange, ask anyone about the last day at Area 33. But what fun we have.

Beach Bash
Hello All,
We have reserved a camp site H24 for the rally. This will be our first and sounds like a great event. We will be coming from Shelton WA and there are two of us, my wife and I. Put me on the firewood list and Ann (wife) is looking over the food list. Looking forward to meeting every one and thanks to Janet for making this happen.

Reply if we have a AS
Yes, we will be arriving in "Andy" our 21ft. 1995 Soverign Airstream which we have owned for abt five years and getting use to the idea of have a comfortable bed instead of the hard ground to sleep on has been enjoyable.

I don't know if this question has been asked before, but does anybody know if there is WIFI at Beverly Beach? If not where is the closest place?

WiFi
I am not sure I remember correctly, but I think there is wifi available for a fee via the campsite. (something like $4 for 24 hours...) I know there is wifi just down the road at South Beach campground... We will be near Newport and here are a few places that offer free wifi there: (I think if you use the parking lot by the library you might be able to connect on the weekend.... but not positive )

i don't recall any wifi availability in bb park last year.
it's not listed as a feature on the website.
the LIST mrs. bambi posted is right on.
i used the diner and the coffee shop and the public library last time...
newport is just 5 minutes south and a fun costal town...
cellular is very spotty in these parks with big trees and rock ridges...
i'll be trying a big antenna and signal amplifier with a broadband card this year....
IF i get on, you are welcome to use the connection.
cheers

Hi All, we are really looking forward to this gathering. I have a problem I would love communal advice on. I am bringing down my aluminum mother in law suite and my mother in law, Father in law too. They are awesome people but they will need a bed, in a hotel near the rally. Does anybody know of one close by? My father in law is Naval Academy Class of 49 and his wife raised 4 kids all over the world. I married one and tomrrow is her birthday which has nothing to do with this story.
Anyway, a nice hotel near the camp site that they would be comforatable in. Any suggestions? I want to bring them along because they are wonderful people and they are out here for 3 weeks. By the way, I will be driving the Aluminum-Mother-in Law Suite down on Friday. I think I saw some E mail traffic and would like to join in the caravan on Friday AM from Tacoma area.

Usually I mail these things out - but I got a little busy this year. SO....
Here's this years bash book. I'll have hard copy at the rally. If you want to print this, use legal sized paper and print landscape (sideways).

John,
My parents were the "Yurt Dwellers" last year. They really enjoyed staying in the Yurt. They are pretty barebones. Just bunk beds. But have heaters and will keep the users out of the rain.

Janet, we'll miss you!!!!
Janet, Sorry you can't make it. I have you and your trailer in 3-d and Glenn wanted to show you how nice the hitch cover is. We do hope every thing is fine, I know how things come up.
We are taking the long way to the bash, Starting in Seaside this Weds night, heading for the Redwoods down I-5 then up the coast. We may see some of you along the way or come along.
Trailer is loaded with food and view-master glasses for the showing of the Hat contest at area 33. Even have my name tags ready since even with Janets booklet it is going to be hard to remember every name. It's to get old!!
