Food sign up - From Mrs. CC

Hi Janet, We will bring:
Friday - an appetizer (Spinach dip with bread/crackers)
Saturday - cornbread salad (sounds funny but is really good) and a chocolate/peanut butter dessert.
Sunday - we can bring some bacon and fruit salad.
If we can help with anything else, let me know!
See you all in October!
Steph, Mrs. CC.

hi b' beach campers!

i'll bring a few lbs of genuine iowa hog jowl neck meat....

er' i mean bacon.

however since i'll have been on the road for 3500+ miles and several weeks before arriving...

i'm not sure any will be left!

and i'll need to be flexible on other tasty things to eat....
last time a carried a souffle that far...
well it wasn't pretty.

oh but i've got ideas!

cheers
2air'

not to ruin anyones appetite
but the 'bacon layer' is one of the things humans have in common with hogs....

see most of us also have the platysmus muscle....like hogs....

and this is part of the muscle layer in hog jowl....

not every human has it though....

there is a simple test to demostrate if one has this muscle...

if no one can guess this manuver or post a picture...
i'll give a demo at the rally....

61 days and counting!

Hi Janet,
We'll search out some fresh fruit for the Sunday morning breakfast.

I'll bring the big BBQ again (maybe the small one too as the group is continuing to grow).

Oh - I'll also get those extra tarps from my friend who has several hundred square feet of them - remember how well they worked last year? We stored them under your trailer, and the weekend was dry!

This hurts me to say this but...we are going to have to cancel on the Beverly Beach Rally. Ugh. We've been so excited about it all summer. The upside is that I got cast as one the leads in Urinetown (at our local music theatre) and will be playing Little Sally. This is an amazing opportunity for me since I have not been able to be in a show for a year or so due to my master's program.
So opening weekend for the show is the same weekend as the rally. I kept thinking that the show wasn't starting until November, but I was wrong.

So maybe we can have a get together in Leavenworth on the Icicle in Late Sept/early Oct. There is always some sort of festival going on like Autumn Leaf or Octoberfest and the weather will be perfect for hiking. Mmmmm brats, saurkraut, and beer.

Janet-

Put us down for corn muffins and some sort of dessert for Sat. in addition to the pig fat for Sun.

My parents have reserved a Yurt camping spot for that weekend. If it's OK, I'll check with them and see if they want to commune with a bunch of Aluminum owners.

Thumbs up An Airstreamer is always prepared...

We should always keep an extra roll of aluminum foil on board...in case they're ready to "transition"!

Fire wood, I cut up the remains of a dead alder.
Will split it tomorrow, and it should be about 600# of seasoned firewood by then.
I Will bring 600-800# cause that is the excess weight space I have.
Is 200# of wood a day gonna be enough? If you want more flame-age, I should bring more. 200# is good coals and moderate flame, 300# gets good flames most of the day. Got more wood than diesel right now.

Flame-ON ! !
