Initial check of the thread indicated possible departure date in April. Now that i'm checking it again it has already gone down. The pics are fantastic and it sounds like it was a great time! Can't take my daughter to Mexico, and my wife won't go citing the geopolitical climate, (she really is fun to camp with!) But, i'm itching to go myself last of week of April or anytime in May. If there are any others how are remorseful about not catching this trip and want another chance to go south, respond. i would love to hook up with other ASers but can certainly go sans.

Desert Hot Springs

A last picture of our Baja trip, taken on Monday morning at Desert Hot Springs. The rain had dusted the mountains with snow the night before.

Uwe,
Would you still recommend Baja this time of year? I should think swimming would be nice. Is there a happy time or year when the water is warm but not have the air too hot to be comfortable without AC?

Avoid the summer month. Late June through late September are very warm.
Of corse so is the water...like a bathtub. Winter month have mild climates, and temps around the 70's, usually.
My favorite times to visit Baja are spring and fall. Winters are often very windy, from my experience. Summers simply too hot.
