I will be meeting up with Creampuff at Sam's RV E of Desert Hot Springs early Thursday....
What time would you like to leave Creampuff?

When caravanning, does anyone use FRS radios to talk back and forth?
Should I bring my two radios?

We use them not only for car to car, but also for spotter to driver coordination while parking the rig. It's a good idea to bring them.

Well now, who can resist that smiley face with the lecherous eyebrows?

Not sure when or with/whom we will meet. Haven't got a straight answer out of my copilot. Probably depends on how preparation goes this weekend and what time y'all are racing for the border from your respective departure points.

Uwe - I doubt we can make it to El Centro Tuesday night - but an early AM Wednesday departure might get us there before you guys leave . . . if we can't get to El Centro in time, then we'll meet up in Desert Hot Springs instead.

We're all going to exchange cell numbers this weekend. This way we can stay abreast of who's where and who needs to look out for whom etc.
If you meet up with Murray at DHS, then you will likely lose a day at the beach. they plan on crossing the border Thursday.

San Felipe 250

We are missing a great event, btw. The Baja 250 desert race. I experienced this a few years back, and it was fascinating!

To you experienced guys . . . what's Punta Estrella's policy on "gray" water disposal?

Also, what do y'all normally do for meals? Bring everything from home? Hit the town for dinner? Food vendors? Corned beef and cabbage?

How's the cell phone coverage?

Gave the trailer a once over today - all systems are go!

Grey water is o.k. to gopher- at least it was last year. We used another place on the way out last trip to dump our black.
We bring most food, however if you like tamales the woman will find you to sell some and they're o.k. You can get good fish in town and great camarones (shrimp) at the embarcadaro (port). We usually eat in town at least one night, and have a pot-luck on the last. There's also a great cantina a little ways south for lunch. Bottom line is don't over stock- some stuff you have to surrender when returning. I'll try to find the list of what's not allowed back (even if you bought it at home). Oh yah- good pastries in town. It's not hard to find food there. Bring enough good water as the hookup is not good tasting. There is sometimes electric lights, but no hook-ups for shorepower.
(FYI- no guns or ammo into Mexico)
