OK, after reading the etiquette thread, I just want to make sure I have everyone on the same page.
Reservation cannot be made in advance. I will try and "save" as many spots as I can for those that have signed up by the time I leave the morning of the Rally.
The only planned event will be a potluck on Saturday night. It would be nice for everyone to give a hint of what they think they might bring. I plan on brats, dogs and beans. No open flames near my trailer later that night.
I will see if I can update the calendar listing.

Also, my wife (me too, now that I think of it) would like to know if there will be any other kids there. We have our four that will be there, Cody 11, Emily 9, Sean 3, and Max 15 months.

Thank you for putting up with my motherly concern over this gathering.

I plan on bringing my wife Fran but she does not eat much and my dog Cromwell, who eats only dog food. I want to be absolutely correct on the etiquette for rallies so I promise to bring enough dog food and a bone for Cromwell for the entire rally plus he will bring an extra tennis ball and bone to share with any other dog who might be there but only those dogs who are registered ten days in advance. I would hate to have a dog crashing this rally.
We will also bring ribs, snacks, beer, a motor home full of toys for the kids to play with and an open door for all kids!

first-time dog crashers OK, as long as they've had their shots

The DREADED Terrier Sisters

Do I need remind everybody about the Dreaded Terrier Sisters? Share a bone? Or a ball? I think NOT. They're TERRORS.

Beware.

Ask Denellen from Moraine.

I Told The Surgeon The Important Dates

Today I had a second meeting with a surgeon and I will soon be having surgery. During a routine colonoscopy a polyp with a few cells of cancer was discovered. This offending polyp has been removed but to be safe a portion of my colon and surrounding tissue will also be removed.
Cancer is a scary thing but a man must set his priorities so I told this surgeon that there was a rally at the end of September in Illinois which I must attend and he needs to get me on my feet and driving before that date. He gave a hesitant assurance but my plans have not changed and my name stays on the list of those attending this rally. Maybe I'll need a tighter bandage or a few pounds out of the tires of Chummy for a smoother ride but we will get there.

Keep us posted on how you are doing. Please do not over do it. I am hoping to keep this as and annaul thing. If you miss this one there will be another. The last thing I want is anyone to over do it on a "Kick back and relax" rally.

Save pennies up for gas costs and come up here! I LOVED visiting with you guys at Moraine.. we can discuss doggie issues in more detail, and include Baxter.. my girls can teach him a thing or two :-)

Bridget is OK :-)

The surgery will be done either on Tuesday or Wednesday of next week. The hospital stay is 7 to 9 days and then about 6 weeks before I can return to my regular inactivity. We are hoping for Wednesday since my wife has a haircut appointment on Tuesday and we all know how hard those are to reschedule. Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. As I used to tell the kids going into surgery at the hospital where I was a chaplain: Things should come out OK.
