Sounds like you guys had a nice visit...albeit small. What about the others...any word?

Thanks for the pictures....

Unhappy Sorry I missed out!!

John,

I came down with a nasty stomach Flu that really kicked my butt and lasted from Thursday night until Saturday morning. I was too weak Saturday to break down and travel over to the park.

Also other member that didn't make it had the same stomach flu in their family too. Also they're in the middle of a battle with cancer and wasn't feeling up to socailizing.

So I'm truly sorry for missing out, but I'm really happy to hear that you all had a great time together.

John

:o(

I'm terribly sorry to have missed out on this adventure, and also that I've neglected to stay in touch.

John mentioned someone who was battling cancer, and it's me. This is a recurrence of the breast cancer that I fought five years ago, and it's gonna have to be my main battlefield for now.

Wish me luck, and I hope to come out of this to join you guys sometime in the future.

Peace,
Holly

Holly,

It is good to hear from you again. I fully understand why you couldn't make it and unfortunately what you are facing is unwelcomingly common to most all of us in some degree, friends , family, co-workers. . . . Try and keep up with us as much as possible and feel free to just jump in the middle of any thread that even remotely interests you, just to let us know you're out there.

All the best,

Chas

Dinner, anyone

How about we all meet for dinner one of these days?

I can recommend Artz Ribhouse on South Lamar as a reasonably central location. We can eat at about 6:00 or 6:30 while it is quiet and then enjoy some good music from 7:30 for as long as we want to stay (music ends about 9:30).

They have good vegetable plates for anyone who is not a carnivore.

Any interest?

Sounds like fun! Patrick and I would love to go, so long as it is on a weekend ...I don't think that we could make it to South Austin by 6pm on a weekday.

I love Artz!! One of the many things I miss from my days living south of the river. Great music also, I guess you pick the banjo there on occasions?? Just let me know when!

Artz

One option would be a Sunday evening. Bluegrass from about 6:30 to 9. Never too crowded on Sundays. Let's pursue this after the 13th when I'll be back from the region 9 rally in Harlingen.

This thread sure pointed out some folks having alot of good times in a beautiful place. Did this Texas tradition not repeat itself since? Why?
On a sad note I see that Holly's post was the last one here. Does anyone know how she is? I hope and pray she beat her cancer. And Martha also quit posting apparently. It is really sort of mysterious how many of our 7000 plus members just seem to disappear.

I'm still lurking...just haven't much to say.
I am waiting to get new curtains for my '68 Overlander from James P. Ambruso, Inc. this week.
Exciting!
Hope to get on the road this summer.
Took a maiden voyage to the Pedernales River in October....all went well.
Will post pictures of my new drapes soon.
I am recovering from heel fracture after a woman crossed the double yellow line on RR 1826 south of Austin a year ago! She hit me head on and totalled my truck. Fortunately we both survived her lapse in attention.

Thinking of a trip Goose Island....looks like a good place.

Been 2 years or so already?

I am still lurking about, sold my Overlander a year ago last November, found other things to do with my spare time other than resurrecting badly neglected Airstreams. Changed the water heater thermostat on my Holiday Rambler last week, that's about the extent of my trailer repairs so far this year.

If I get the aluminum itch again I will probably get myself an Avion truck camper, few and far between in these parts. Seems like all of them are in the Pacific NW or California. Anyone in Texas care to keep a look out for me?
