For those of you interested, how about a "Forums" rally at Pedernales Falls SP on March 8th & 9th?
Someone of you expressed an interest in us getting together and the more I thought about it, the more I realized you guys were right.
As John Irwin pointed out, it's close enough for those of you who would rather just like to drive out and just say hello, instead of spending the night.
This would give me two weeks to get out there(I'm slow , but not that slow) and if I arrive early, there's plenty to see and do, as I've never been to Austin before.
Share your those- John
p.s. John Irwin, could you please post the SP's phone #? Tks
The number for the TPWD reservations system is (512)389-8900
You can also make reservations by going to the TPWD web site at http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/ and make the reservations either over the net or by email.
Being in Austin, I always do it over the phone. They require a one-night deposit on a credit card. If you have to cancel, you get back all but $5.
I hope to see you at Pedernales SP in March.

Pedernales will be fun. It is a huge park (5000 acres) with generous campspots.
I was going to suggest Blanco state park, which has a perfect setting for a mini rally and is just a few miles further than Pedernales.
The park is located just a few blocks from Blanco's town center and always has some full timers.
But since you already made reservations at Pedernales SP, we will be happy to join you there.
The park is very busy, anyone planning on going that weekend should make reservation soon.

You will see that Pedernales is big. There could be 5 of us out there and we would be far apart from each other. Some of the Pedernales sites require some leveling and on busy weekends you usually get stuck with the worse site.
Blanco is all flat, except sites 22,24,26,28,29,30
But, like I wrote you in a PM, I am expecting delivery of a new company truck in 45 days, which would require my full attention for 2 days. I will make reservations for the weekend, but in case of the above falling on that date, I would have to answer the call of duty.
I would like to hear some feedback from other interested parties, so that we could make reservations asap.

Blanco SP is full the weekend of March 8.
Pedernales has 14 sites available.
Keep your reservations at Pedernales, John.
The other option would the Canyon of the Eagles Nature Park. www.canyonoftheeagles.com
Its a very nice park which usually has sites available, but $8 -10 more than state parks.

Reservations confirmed at Pedernales SP for March 8th, 13 sites left.
You are right, John I., the sites are not bad at Pedernales, my MH just requires a little more attention, due to the axles being so far apart.
