I would like to know how many Argosy owners would like to meet in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Spring of 2006? Airstreamers welcome, but the main theme for this rally will be Argosy's. Any suggestions are welcome and will be taken into consideration.
The initial thought is to have it in West Virginia. The Idea is to create a greater interest in Argosy's and share our rebuilding stories.

We have a 1975 26' Argosy we have just finished rehabing.. Name is Costalotta. West Virginia would be a great place .. My hubby is from there but is a temporary transplant to Canada.. will be wintering in Florida this winter.. Annie
That sounds like fun.
Do you have any ideas for it yet?
It might be a good idea to start things now, considering you will be pulling people in from all over the country.
I am open to a location in West Virginia, and not having traveled much I am not sure which campround might be better than others. The main theme will be Argosy's, but Airstreamers are welcome. It would be nice if I could find someone to teach a few classes on repairing and upkeep of a travel trailer of these vintages. I am hoping to have a few door prizes, like one for the oldest trailer, and farthest visitor, and a few from a drawing.
The campground will have activities to keep children busy, and I am looking for a few volunteers to run a few stations for a child "field day" consisiting of a few hours on one of the days. Keep the questions coming as it helps my creative juices.
There should be a swap meet while we are there so bring your unused stuff.

Reason: Another thought to add

Work and other travel committments will prevent me from attending, but thought that I might add a suggestion for your consideration. When considering timing, you might want to look at the typical "last-day-of-school" for the region as that will have an impact on familiies traveling to the event -- I know that here in the Midwest, barring major outbreaks of bad weather during the winter, the last day of attendance for students in schools with "traditional" school years is June 15 with anything much later than June 24 an unlikely occurrence.
Good luck with your event -- it is one that I would really enjoy attending if not for existing committments!
Kevin

If you have it about the third week of April would be the time that the morel mushroons are up, they are good to eat by themselves or with steak and other foods. If you need any help finding a campground let us know. Marvin
That sounds like a wonderful idea. Being from way down here in Oklahoma, and still actively working, I probably can't come. Believe me I would love to see other Argosy trailers. I've only seen one other besides mine and it was so interesting to see things it had that mine didn't and vise-versa. People change so many things over the years. I now think mine has been rewired and replumbed because things were different from the other Argosy I saw. I envy all of you who can go.
It will be Doug's trailer!
We are considering it as a side show item!
The main attraction is you, and the sideshow is your trailer.
The Argosy's are the main event, I am going to look into the possibility of live entertainment. THis will depend on the campground, some provide live entertainment for you.
Then there is always the stand up comedy of Lou Patterson!
Trust me that will be a last resort.
I was thinking about the main theme being getting to know Argosy's and their owners, and what each of us have done and what we still want to do.
Then there is the option (this is for you Lou) calling it the Doug a pa"lou"za. If you are interested in helping me organize my first rally?

Doug,
We just had a really nice rally here in Metro-Detroit. It was AWESOME!
I do have to suggest that the sooner we get started, the better the rally will be.
Just let me know what we need to do to get this rally off the ground.
Hello.. Marvin suggests the above.. 31 sites with full hookups and 19 with electricity and water.. it is a resort also.. Check it out.. lots of activities.. Annie

I wonder if they will let us have a campfire that lasts until 2 a.m.!
Sounds like a cool plan, too far away that early in the year... Heck we'll still be snowed in!
