Only about a month from this rally and the attendance list is full! Time to start planning logistics at Area 33.
This rural spot has a group camp area with fire ring - wood included, great views, a babbling brook, 2 lovely porto-lets, 1 elect plug (for all to share) and a potable water spigot. Think boon-dockers delight. If you want to shower you can drive a couple of miles down the road to the county park or swim in the creek (cows will be watching...) Camping is in grassy (not so level) field with some sparse trees - no sand, gravel or asphalt slabs anywhere!
Reserved dates: May 22, 23, 24
Parking takes some planning and it you may be asked to park your tow vehicle away from your trailer. Camping fees are yet to be determined but will be approximately $15 per night (cash and check only).
Area 33 - more farm-less park.
Hollenbeck Park located near Trout Lake WA
33 Mt Adams Rd.
Owners:Zoe and Gerald Wood
Directions: From Hwy 141 North bound - Mt Adams Hwy
Bear right at Chevron Station (road splits) in town and go about 1/4 mile across creek. fair warning - town is hard to recognize - a small market or two - that's all. This intersection is near the County campground
Left at 4-way intersection - look for sign to park, go about 300 yards down driveway
Right at sign to Hollenbeck park
Left at Green Gates - go down somewhat bumpy road - sometimes gravel
Drive down old runway 1900 ft (see hanger on left) -at the end of the runway cross irrigation ditch.
Camping to the left - we get the area with the fire pit and picnic table.. Please be careful about water spigots.
Just go ahead and park. One of the owners will come by on a small motorbike to collect. They do not take plastic! Checks OK.
Dumping: there is no dump station here - but the County park - seen on map quest link does have a dump station. You may dump "not too gray" water out of the way. Don’t ask - don’t tell.
This place is not in any phone book and the directions are kinda like a treasure hunt. The owners work at day jobs and do not advertise. Some portion of this land is a working farm.
Connectivity: last year we had decent ATT cell service and some internet Rain: Be prepared - bring a book. Waiting list: Please let me know if you are interested in attending. This rally location has limited parking space and is currently full but anything is possible. Cancellations: If you cannot make it please let me know - there is a waiting list to attend.
Meals: We'll bring the big stove, cooking gear and the box of paper goods - but we want to be on holiday and would like some help. Assistance with scullery work and a brave person to take on Sunday night would be appreciated. Our cooking gear is available to use.
Facilities are limited and so we need to keep clean up really simple (no hot water). I'll edit this post with food additions as we go along - please check back here. Please sign up via PM and I'll edit this post with additions as we go along.

I see the aliens are calling us back to Area 33 so they can continue their experiments on us all!! Well, I see everyone has given in to their demands and all are returning. We're going to rally in Tumalo the weekend before with the Oregon Unit......then on to Area 33. Back to back rallys......it doesn't get any better than that!! All we need is some sunshine and warmer weather to complete the 12 day outing.
We will bring what ever is needed for the PL's Fri, Sat, & Sun. Just let us know. Looking forward to seeing ya'll.
This is a reminder for all of you, You have 2 weeks left to get your trailer out of mothballs before the rally. Some of us have already camped in the snow this year and are ready to go.
Please don't forget to sign up for food and help.
If you are not able to come for some reason, please let us know so we can open your spot to people on the waiting list.
See you all there.

She is ready and waiting in Spokane! I just need the buy the food and pick her up one the way to Area 33 !
We are getting closer! Don had a wheel bearing on the trusty ole' Ford replaced (I think that was what he said it was...) today... glad it didn't freeze up while we were one the road! Most left to do is hit the grocery store and pack for the trip! Sure hope we have good weather... but then it is a NW rally, so we gotta have some rain...

There are a few of us making this a 11 day camping trip starting at Tumalo State Park in Sisters at the wbcci rally and then heading up to A33. We will be staying over on Sunday since it sound like warm weather. Then we are going to try rockhounding at Richard Rock Ranch east of Madras, free camping and hunting for thundereggs.
