Here are some pics we took today at the campground at Confluence Park. It looks a bit dismal in the grey cold afternoon sunlight, but in April...everything will be electric green, leaves on trees, wildflowers on the mountainsides.

Kathleen....that looks great....for kayaking, biking, walking and the sites look level and clean! It also looks like the water level is down......are you in a drought there? Now we just need to get the word out for more folks to make the rally!

flying off tomorrow.....

but so far the schedule looks clear! I don't care where, just tell me where to drive! Kathleen - you pick! This Trojan will go where you want to me too.... Dun tah dah dun tah da, dadtahhhaaahhh (It's hard to translate the Fight song well!)

I haven't been up to the trailer lately... hope all this cold didn't do a number on it. Need some warmth (oh, it's about 95 in Penang today!). Off to the (F1) races!

Dude! You are in Malaysia! Go Speedracer! If you can....find a cool car magnet for the refrigerator. We would be forever indebted. And you translated your annoying fight song quite nicely. Almost as annoying as OOOOOOOO! SSSSSSS! UUUUUUUUUU! O! S! OSU!

Jordandvm...we are not in a drought it is just freezing cold in the mountains and we just got more snow. Wait a week and the river will be raging with run off.

Poll closes tomorrow for possible rally sites. Right now it looks like Confluence Park is the favorite. Any last suggestions?

Uberlanders - we don't care - just want to camp (preferably not in the driveway). Tell us where to show up. Let me know what to bring.... we can throw the BIG stove and gear in the truck really quick.

Have fun at Confluence! Wish I could be there, but won't hit the NW until the International. When you get a chance, take a look at this location down by Coos Bay, post #16 in the thread

Here is another pic of the campground. This one is taken from the Loop trail near the Horan Natural area back toward the campground.

We're planning on coming. We were going to take our trailer our next week, but it's not going to work out. So we'll look forward to a trip in April.

Are there any kayak rental near the park?

Brad

You know I don't know if there are any kayak renters in town. Arlberg is your best bet which is downtown. There are probably a few in Leavenworth as well. If I can remember I will stop in on Monday and ask about it.

And by the way everybody you need to mark you are attending on the rally calendar. I created a small itinerary but of course it is early, so I'm sure it will morph by April. I will not be able to reserve sites, it looks like you can't reserve sites until May. So I will have to go down early on Friday to reserve spots for everyone.

Directions for the Oregonians:

Here is the best way we think when pulling a trailer. There are shorter routes, but you will be a bit pokey pulling the trailer, so you might as well take the easier route...it ends up a wash on time.

So you go east on 84, 97 through Goldendale to 82. You go east on 82 to Sunnyside. Take the exit that says Beverly Bridge and 241. Go north on 241 to 24 and follow to the end, crossing the Columbia at Beverly Bridge. Then go north on 243. Wave at my parents on the golf course at Desert Aire and continue north to I90. Travel east on 90 to Quincy/George exit. Go north on 28 to highway 2. Take 2 west to Wenatchee.

I think I got it all right. Going through Yakima to Ellensburg is a bunch of ups and downs, and Blewitt (Ellensburg to Wenatchee) is a long long pull up hill.
