I've won a mojor award! I've won a major award!

Camperski and I exchanged a few pleasentries early on friday afternoon. He and his compandries decided to make Susan and I "official" members of the Pickens County Campers. I don't know what to say on such an august occasion. We can only endevour to uphold the lofty goals of such an organization. Now if we can only get a camper that actually is roadworthy.

Thanks for a great day boys and girls. Maybe next time we can make it an entire weekend.

Jim

What fun!!!

Had a great time at the rally! Looking forward to next fall already! Met lots of nice folks, saw lots of nice Airstreams, listened to some great music. The weather was absolutely wonderful and the night sky was beautiful! Even Tinley enjoyed her first rally!

We got home safe and sound. There was another overturned tractor trailer rig on the Ocoee River Road. This time he was hauling coca cola! At least it didn't end up in the river! TJ and I had to cross the mountain going to Reliance, then back up Highway 411 to Highway 64. Ruth and Dacia were both behind us (but just barely) and were able to get through once they removed the tractor. Trailer was still overturned though.

Looking forward to the next trip! See everyone down the road....yer...is that up the road???

It sure was great meeting new folks and putting faces with on-line AKA's and seeing old friends again. It was so much fun. I enjoyed touring the other Airstreams and seeing the various floor plans that were made over the years. Becki enjoyed relaxing while I was out touring homes. Jonathan really enjoyed playing with Rick Zenzer...he wanted to stay longer and play with him! My older son enjoyed following his own pursuits, too.

I tried to try as many different dishes as possible at the pot luck and just couldn't fit them all on my plate and in my bowl. I loved every bite. Umm. Becki asked me to find out who brought the shrimp and grits and to get the recipe. Who brought it? Do post the recipe please.

Too bad it had to end so soon. It was great that there was a good cross section of folks in ages and stages in their families. I hope the Fall Rally will be the last weekend in October so we can attend (not so subtle hint here Alan, Halloween is on Wednesday so 10/26-10/28 would be a good weekend!). I look forward to attending the next rally that we can.

What a Great Rally!

Now that we're home, safe and sound, I can say that the maiden voyage of the "Rolling Bunkhouse" was a success!

It was great to see all the familiar faces (Alan & Shannon, Kathy, Craig, Brad, etc.) as well as meet many new folks. Thanks to Alan for his efforts (as well as everyone else who did the "unpublicized work") in putting this thing together. What a great way to start off with our "new" unit.

We were disappointed that Martin Pressley wasn't able make it as well as missing Jim & Susan, but hopefully we'll see both this fall.

October 26th sounds good to us. We'll start working on the music!

We had a great time as well! I loved getting a tour of Glen's Funeral Coach and chatting late Saturday night around the campfire with A-Merry-Can, and Mr. & Mrs. "Pizzachop".

We're sad that we can't make it to the rally in Tennesee during May 10-13, but we'll be back for the Fall version of springstream!

Here's the link to my pictures from the rally:

Until next time...

Great photos Desidou. Not sure we met, but maybe we'll get to meet for sure in the fall or at the next Can Opener Rally. Look forward to it.

No, I'm afraid that wasn't us. We pulled in about 10:15 Friday night. We left Fayetteville about 7:30 and made one little stop on the way that took about 15-20 minutes so I guess it was about a 2-1/2 hour drive for us. There was another rig like ours at the rally; it may have been the Zinzers. Their truck has a camper-shell over the bed. Other than that it's pretty much the same rig as we have. Roy's truck is a King Ranch and different color and is one year newer than my '05 Lariat.

We had a most awesome time! I'm sitting in BB King's in Memphis, and I'm thinking we need some horns in the fall. What am I thinking.

Someone mentioned shrimp earlier in the string. If it was spicy, that may have been our dish (no grits, though). If so, I'll post recipe - if that is the dish.

It wouild have been a perfect weekend if we only had a pig!

What a blast! We loved breaking bread with all of you. Martin - next time for sure!
