I could do an October 26th-28th rally also. Maybe this will be a date that works for many.
I've really enjoyed looking at the many pics. Thanks for posting everyone.

Alan, I would say the Springstream was a definite winner. Thanks for all your hard work to keep this going. Also thanks to Shannon and Kathy Posey for everything you do every year for this.

Oops, just saw your post Craig, could you possibly get your niece to postpone the wedding for a week?

I second everything Sugarfoot said.

Craig, maybe you could park your Airstream in Hiawasse on Friday night, drive up to Triangle, VA for the wedding, (make sure your niece gets married at 10:00) get in front of the reception line, and dash back to Hiawasse. Its about 550 miles at 75 MPH (without the Airstream of course) so it should take you 7-1/2 hours each way, give or take. So you could possibly be back in time for the pot luck if your lunch is via a drive through and you only stop for one gas/potty break!

If my wife didn't kill me then the drive would!

Good morning

Hello everybody!
Sounds as if it was a wonderful event.
I enjoyed the visits from Sugarfoot, Jim and Susan, Gavin and Ruth, JVB(I think that's his initials) I snuck (past tense of sneak) over for a while Sat, met Rob, Davidz71, Alansd's better half, LI Pet but most were somewhere in the 2 hour lull before the potluck. Thanks to those who asked me to stay, however, my Missus had asked me to be back by 6:00. I made it by 6:30 so it wasn't all bad.
Maybe I can make the Oct rally
Sorry I missed you Minnie Mate and all the others I would like to have met.
Alan-keep up your good work-it is a very difficult job, but think of the joy that not only you received but the many others as well.
PS not haughtily said, but I'm still in N GA!

Thanks for a great week-end!

Burt and I had a wonderful time at our first rally. So many nice people, families, pets and Airstreams in one place. And so much food at the pot luck!

Thanks to all!!!

Sorry we missed each other Steelbird. When you were visiting I was out and about visiting other ralliers, too. I am still planning to make it up to Top of Georgia this Saturday for the vote but I can't stay for the rally. Think that would be OK with the rally organizers? I have too much going on right now to stay for the rally and my son has already missed two soccer games this season so my wife will be taking him to the one this Saturday morning. One day this weekend is all I can spare.

Maybe Next Time.....I'll make it

I am glad to see the pictures and to know that everyone had a great rally. Sorry for the transmission woes for you Martin. Hope the F-250 will be better than ever really soon.
The October weekend of 26-28 would work well for me. (26th is my Bday)....
Hope to see everyone in the fall.

Curious minds, infamous transmissions

Just got the call from dealership.
I guess we are in the middle of the saga. Four days at the Ford dealer and they "think" the problem is a sending unit inside the transmission. Seems this sending unit is telling the wacky computer that the transmission is in bad shape. The wacky computer takes this information and tells the temp. gauge to read HOT, real HOT. So, the suspect part is ordered and hopefully will be installed by 5pm tomorrow. IF so, that will be just in time for me to take the Airstream to Barnesville and set up for the weekend. IF all goes well, little piggie will be inside the cooker and getting warm at 6am Friday. Just 6 days late. (don't worry, he's been in the freezer)
Lot's of IFs.

martin.

ps Service Manager says new trannie runs $4 grand.
new sending unit installed & talking to the wacky computer $388 total.
One compared to the other.... priceless.

Hope all of this is covered by your warranty...especially if it turns out to be the transmission. Ouch! You told me you had about 7K miles left. If not, I'll be praying for you.

Great rally...a big thanks to all for your contribution!!!

Thanks Alan and everyone else who had a part in putting this together and thank you Lord for great weather! My wife Ruth and I were long overdue for a trip. We had a great time! The food was outstanding and we met some super people. We'll look forward to the next one. Steelbird, we enjoyed stopping by TOG and visiting with you and your lovely wife as well. We used to go up there several times a year, many years ago.

Thanks, Geven (& Ruth)

Hello Minnie's Mate, the business meeting is 10:00 am, and I don't think anyone would object to your coming (assume you are a member of GA Unit?) That's early to get up and to drive to Helen if you aren't already up there. If you are coming up to vote on the motorhome thing, I'm not sure it is worth the drive, as I think the vote will go overwhelming the way you would vote ( considering some of your posts on the matter) There is a small show and sell flea market, sometimes something good shows up, and then a new members seminar. Free time for a few hours, and then the rally meeting is not until 7:00.

Top of Georgia

Hey Steelbird,

Do you think there would be any charge to get in if I were to drive up & come in for about an hour an check out the flea market?

Thanks,

Geven

Thanks for a great day boys and girls. Maybe next time we can make it an entire weekend.

Geven, There would be no charge. The timing of the rally this year, and some unfortunate illnesses have kept people away. I'm not even sure that it would be worth your time. I'll admit to having found some pretty good stuff here, and other times....absolutely nothing. Levon is here, but he didn't say anything about bringing any parts with him. It might be a gamble, however, you are very welcome to come.
