Deadline, what deadline? As long as there are spaces in the park (with trailer or not), you are welcome to sign on and show up. The more the merrier.

Also feel free to share a favorite beverage ( last time we had a great selection of wines, etc. Personal note- single malts are encouraged)

Also if you have Airstream or camping/rv items to sell, we can have a swap meet type thing...just display your items outside your trailer/moho during the tour of homes/ visitation time, and put a little sign that says "swap/sell" on em. You never know what someone else might need.

Did You Choose a Brew Yet?

For those beer lovers out there – you are welcome.

empresley,

somehow I missed (or forgot) that you mentioned a brewed beverage. Did you test and select one yet? Danielle and I both enjoy a cold one now and then. She likes the stout/dark varieties. I like something a little lighter but not much hops. But brewed beverages are much like BBQ - what's to dislike about any of them?

Are you still looking for prices on a whole pig? If so, how many pounds? I know you originally mentioned 100# or so. That seems big to me considering all the other food that has been mentioned in this thread. But I'll say again - we love leftovers!

We stopped by our favorite BBQ place today (Pig N Chik) and spoke to the manager while we were eating. He is going to check on whole pig prices. He usually smokes shoulders so he is not familiar with whole pig prices. He's going to call me tomorrow (3/5/07) regarding prices.

Lucky, you are doing a great job as a member of the cooking crew. Paying attention to the beverage & price of pork futures will get you a souvenior BBQ apron.

Beverage: The logisics & brew time are going to become a hassle so I will be bringing something off the shelf. If you can find it (our Sam's Club has it in stock at the moment), Sam Adams Brewmaster collection is wonderful. 6 different flavors in the case. Some very dark and delicious.

The I am cooking this week is a 100lb'er. They never can promise exact weight so it will be 90 to 110 range. It does sound like a lot but there is a lot of waste when cooking a whole pig. For the rally it will make a nice party touch. I am sure that we can sell the left overs by the lb. to those attending. It freezes well and the price will be well below cost from a BBQ house. The price this week from my supplier is $1.59 per lb. I order them without the head since that adds 15 to 20 lbs. and is all waste.

Will post photos of this week's pig after Friday's cooking.

Rally Fever

I seem to have come down with rally fever, and have spent a great deal of time this weekend day dreaming...I didn't get to work on the AS a little, but this week is looking promising to make some REAL progress!

Software - How to Make Name Tags

Mark,

I used software that came with my computer several years ago. The software is Micrografx Windows Draw. Many computers and printers come with software like this.

This software was a freebie - it's used to make greeting cards, certificates, etc. The card wizard feature coaches you through the process of creating a certificate then I just resized the whole thing to be the apppropriate size.

You could always go with simple card stock, colored pens and stickers. Nothing wrong with keeping it simple.
