Reservations are made for A44. There are no more spots left in B,C,D or E but we are close. Hollar back and let us know what we can help with the food, drinks or whatever. Thanks for your efforts and see ya'll in a few weeks. Hank and Terry

Glad that you decided to roll in .
As you mentioned the areas where no spots remained, I thought of music (B, C, D, or E) and I have no problems playing in any of those keys . So, are you a musician? Bring your instrument and have some more fun!
Looking forward to seeing everyone, and viewing some trailers on tour. (Oh, I must also add: playing music too...!!!!)

Let the spring camping season begin
Hank A and Tsunami, great to have you on board!
Camperski, your 8 months of effort looks to have paid off well, nice job.
Spartan, I'm right there with you on starting out the camping season. I just got back tonight from Shellmound on Nickajack Lake. Couldn't stand it, had to get the Tradewind out for a few days and knock the dust off. . . . well, more pollen than dust. So everyone get out and enjoy yourselves.

just met a nice couple with two young boys, who live nearby my home and own a fine 77 Tradewind. Hopefully they might join us also.
There is going to be a lot of aluminum on Lake Chatuge!!
Got some cool older oak chairs to put in my Sovereign.
Had to wash off a ton of greenish pollen tonight, the polllen count in Atl area was over 6000 this week. Unreal.

Not finished but getting there, had to order 2 axles I'm waiting to get them and bolt them in before the rally.
I was working on some cheery trim work today, painted the bannana wraps put new blue belt moulding all round, finished the pergo floor.
Still need to finish the Pex and new copper gas lines, the list goes on.
Don't really think these old units are ever really finished.

Bob,
Yes they are.
The side mounting brackets were unnecessary.

Ok, I tried getting the Dexters but I got two different recomendations as what to use and one said they have 22 1/2 or 45 degree down angle nothing in between, I got a price of 378 ea.
I got them from Henschen thru a dealer friend for just a little more and they're supposed to bolt right on?????
I hope.
I just ordered the bare axle, the brakes and drums were recently rebuilt new bearing pads so I didn't want to waste the $$$$
How heavy were they to move around? Can two people pick them up without the brakes?

Bob,
Two people can move them or one person with a floor jack. Bare axles should be a bit lighter. I think mine weighed in at 258 lbs each.
I installed mine myself so it is doable without help, but an extra set of hands would be nice. I hope yours do bolt on. The shock mount removal/weld didn't take that long, but it is an extra step.

A Little History Here....
It was exactly two years ago that we attended the 2005 Spring Rally at Georgia Mountain Fair campground with our '72 Overlander (which was pretty cramped). I announced at the rally that I had just purchased on ebay a '73 Sovereign and would be picking it up the following week, and hopefully have it ready to camp for the summer. (Or at least in time for the fall '05 Rally) It would be the ultimate bunkhouse and fit our growing family's needs.
Well, it turned out to be a little more involved than I had anticipated (isn't that always the case?) and we brought our '72 Overlander to the fall rally and that was the last time we camped as a family. (We sold the Overlander in spring '06)
It has been a long, drawn out ordeal but I think we're going to make it this time. I have a few more things to finish inside but the new axles and wheels are now installed. (A pictorial for anyone interested is in my member's photos.)
Below is a picture of the Sovereign the day I picked it up in N.C. two years ago and a picture of it taken today with the new axles and wheels on.
Yes, I'm finally excited! Looking forward to seeing all the old friends and making some new ones.

PizzaChop, I knew you were into a big restoration with your Sovereign, but I had no idea how big until I thumbed through your pics. Awesome job! I can't wait to see the Sovereign up close.
