Wow, we have approximately 27 coaches coming that we know about!

Fred and Janet from Idaho will be there to help with parking today. There are driving directions to find the campsite (it's on Cameron street) under the original rally post.

Entertainment at the fair will start around 7 or 7:30.
Bobby Cochran, originally from Steppenwolf, will be playing guitar with the band tonite and tomorrow nite, according to the Troubs manager.

There will be donuts under the blue canopy at the Airstream camping field a little after 8 AM Saturday morning from the local bakery!

Dogs are not allowed on the fairgrounds, but in the camping area it's okay. Just pick up after them, please.

See you there!

I hope y'all will be reporting back on the fine time had by all, just to rub salt in the wounds of those of us who couldn't make it!

Hi Stephanie
I'm sorry you couldn't join us but definately understand. The weekend was wonderful!! Thanks to Nick and karyn for making it happen. It was our first rally of any kind and we had not a clue what to expect. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Antsy and the Troubs were awesome. They even came to our camping area and hung out all afternoon, playing and singing and being "real" and unplugged. I'm sure someone with more experience on the forum will attach some photos...I'm learning.

The Troubs are Great

If you ever get a chance to see the Troubs, do it! What a great time!
Yes they did come to our camp on Saturday. They performed for us, jammed with some of our more musical Airstreamers, autographed trailers and spent most of the afternoon looking and visiting with everyone. Bobby Cochran is in the photos on the left of the band, in green tropical shirt, lead guitarist with Steppenwolf in the 70's, also said he has played with Elvis, Steve Miller and more, we were in great company!

74 Twinkie's renovation was a huge draw for Troubs and Airstreamers alike. We all enjoyed his results and couldn't believe the amount of work done on the coach and tow vehicle, what a showpiece!

We had a spaghetti dinner at a local restaurant, shows on two nights, met some great people had great weather and a super time!

I will upload some photos and one of a little Troubadour fan (called Flamingo- heads). He came all the way from Vancouver to see the Troubadours.

Looks like a good time was had by all.

Loved the pictures, wish we had been able to attend. I especially liked the flamingo-head. I have a couple of little flamingo-heads that would love the hat. Teresa

Stephanie,

That was 74 "Twinkie" off this forum. Check out his photo gallery. That coach and tow vehicle are outstanding. The interior of the Argosy is all done in maple, it's just beautiful!

Stef,

They were also at the Tin Can Tourist rally in Deming last month. What a rig (although I think he might need new axles)! He's taking it xcountry and the Troubs were on his way.

They were Dennis and Allison, don't know what their forums handles are. The truck is a 1950 body on a 1982 Suburban chassis and the running gear is Diesel powered, ya boy! Dennis has done all of the work modifying the chassis to fit the body. He painted it and put in seats from a 2000 I believe Cadilac. Very cool vehicle, the only thing he did not do himself was the exhaust. They got the trailer after he finished the truck and went to work on it. He's a cabinet maker by trade and it is beautiful inside, all natural maple wood. Allison did a lot of interior work. Dennis painted the trailer to match the truck, I mean he actually painted it in his drive way a super job. All sorts of tricks in it. Pop up tv automatic of course, He used a window regulator from a Camero very slick. Attention to detail is the key word here. Such as he built a curved shower rod that rotates so that you have more room in the shower and when your done, flip it back over and hang your wet things on it and it will drip into the tub insted of the floor. I would reccomend that anyone who sees them to get a tour. Very nice people and proud of their hard work. I just can't say enough about how fine their rig is. They are currently on a 44 day tour of the country, heading East.

Karyen, we had a wonderful time, thoroughly enjoyed the shows, especially when Antsy and Troubs came over to our camp. Everytime I see the bumber sticker "Honk if you love Jesus" I will be looking for a little old grey haired lady. Thanks for all the arrangements you and Nick put together.

I'm glad you enjoyed it, we had a great time as well. I will attach a copy of the group photo from Ansty's manager. The Troubs will be in Spokane, March 28th, 2008, at the Bing Crosby Theatre if you need another Troub fix.

Dayton Rally

This was our first Airstream Rally and Laney and I could not imagine a more positive, fun and welcoming group. Antsy McClain, Bobby Cochran and their Sax Player came to our campsite and gave us an an impromtu matinee which was a real treat. We were planning on staying only one night but enjoyed their evening performance so much we absolutely had to stay for the second night. We met some very nice couples, from BC, Anacortes and nearby Post Falls. Thanks to Karyn and Nick, owners of Airstream of Spokane for helping to organize this delightful event. We're hooked on Airstream Rallies now for sure and in fact are leaving next week for Albuqueque, four corners WBCCI Rally at the International Balloon festival. By the way, I sure hope the Tailer Park Trobadours will be asked to perform at the International Rally in Bozeman, they would be perfect.
